Just discovered the Pixies some weeks ago and I'm simply fascinated.
Normally I prefer music by bands like THE CURE, Siouxsie and the banshess, Joy Division, Placebo...melancholic and depressiv bands so to say.
Is this rather unusual, or are there some other users on this forum that also love music by the bands I mentioned above?

I guess you just like the 80s sound. Hell, I like Soundgarden and the Beach Boys and they're totally different. Don't sweat it.

yeah, I love Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen and PJ Harvey. They are all pretty down-and-out. But they certainly have one thing in common with Black; they are all kick-ass singer-songwriters that perform with honesty, whatever it is they are being honset about.
