The new single has been reviewed on http://www.soundsxp.com/singles/home.html br / . It's neither good or bad:
<<Frank is sad. This is out as a precursor to the his new album that promises to be a feast of introspection. The main song is a unsurprisingly a slice of East Coast post punk leavened with West Coast pop sensibility and, in this case, a cocktail lounge piano. It's difficult to go wrong with Frank, he's just too darn good at what he does. This isn't as good though as the Tom Waits-esque Nadine, also from the new album. I caught that on the radio the other day where it really stood out as a corker. The other tracks are both covers, the drunkenly swaggering Take what you want and a version of the Stones' Down in the Hole as performed by Mr Washington's barmy latino alter ego. Not bad at all, but if you can wait until September for the album, that might make sense - the early evidence looks good.>>
