boy i've been a fan for a while. I really love alot of his songs a whole lot. I like what he's doing now more than anything ever. but when push comes to shove. I'de probably say Nimrods Son. I always come back to that one unconciously. I play it at my local open mike night, and I've traveled and played little shows around here and there and it always gets a rise out of people. Good and Bad I was yanked off the stage at an open mike night in Lexington virginia for that one. |

Today's Pixies choice is Bone Machine |

I like the idea of a tune a day so to carry on the legacy, lets hear it for Jacques Tatti!
On a more permanent note my top ten FB songs are: 1. Men in Black - Voted song of the year for 1996 2. Headache - Coz of the summer it was released; I have fantastic memories of just about every journey I made and, this got played coz it hit each compilation tape I did. 3. I Heard Ramona Sing - sounds like a lullaby 4. Speedy Marie - I love its simplicity 5. Valentine & Garuda - cos it reminds me of Bob Dylan somehow
Thats all for now...

As of right now, "Out of State" or "True Blue".
"Czar" is an all-timer and "If It Takes All Night" is worth an honorable mention.
Well, since I have 4 songs listed, to make a top 5, I guess "I Need Peace" is a personal fave.
"And when you get blue and you've lost all your dreams, there's nothin' like a campfire and a can full of beans." |

There are so many great ones, but if I had to choose two I would say czar and Blast Off are my two faves. They are two of my favorite guitar riffs. As far as pixies songs go I could name twenty, but I really like cactus.

If pressed to choose an absolute favorite, I'd probably go with "If It Takes All Night." It's just so damned catchy. It's a tough decision, though, and if I had to choose two from each album, I'd probably go with:
Los Angeles Old Black Dawning Speedy Marie Headache The Marsist Men In Black All My Ghosts Dog Gone I Think I'm Starting To Lose It Skeleton Man Oddball Everybody Got The Beat Bullet If It Takes All Night
I'm still not totally sure what my favorites are on the two new albums, so I won't choose right now.

Already said this on another forum, but.......
Freedom Rock - for many reasons:
1. Reminds me of me when I go to my local record shop and ask if they have FB....... and they say 'no but have you heard The Pixies'! (Grrrrr)
2. Makes me laugh.
3. My five year old son has been singing it in it's entirety since he was three, (and now believes his name is Chip). |
