Johnny Foxes, I agree that its a great place. I had a fucking nice steak there a couple of years ago.... thats another famous name to add to their 'poster of famous people who have dined at the restaurant.'
Steak, cooked 15 seconds on either side, lovely!
War....... Its not fantastic |

Heh... you might think so from that quote, but no. I think that quote is more about no one's work being done until they make pigs fly and/or surprise everyone. Then again, it could be a farmer's mantra... yeah, what the hell, let's make him a farmer. Bazaa you sly boots. |

You mean my voice will stop cracking and the rapid pubic hair growth will subside before it engulfs my rearmost area and girls will actually like me? Sweet! That's like totally wicked dude. I hope my face clears up by then....
I beleive Mr. Brent was the star of television show of some kind, though my knowledge of him is only though Senor Barry the Great and his David Brent related ramblings. I aslo learned of the "sneaky butcher" from monsieur bazza, and for this I am eternaly gratefull. It has given my life meaning. |

Indeed... we've made the Sneaky Butcher into a b-comic (thanks, Tim) hero. He even has his own catch-phrase:
The Sneaky Butcher strikes again. Ah-ha-ha-ha.
I imagine him having a Strongbad-esque voice. Now go back and read it again. Yes. You see how you scum. |

Hey, if they let us out, "the Sneaky Butcher" will quickly go from b-comic to real life street walking psycho, trust me. "You lot should get out more".... sheesh Barry, that's what was probably said to Jack the Ripper before his famous night time wanderings.... |

I heard it online - it wasn't that great in my opinion. Too much time asking about the Pixies and recording to two track, and not enough about the new album for my taste. Sounds like a good show though

you won the raveonettes album? well done. or did they give away frank's? anyway, i'm really pissed off. i was taping the whole show, and they tape was still going during everything is new, and i stepped outside the room, and the interview started, but i said to myself it was okay, i'd listen to it later. little did i know the tape had just run out! luckily i got in on time to change the tape over and get most of the interview, but i texted in and i'm the one alison was refering to when she said 'poor jess, the tape ran out when she was taping the interview! we'll have to do something about that...'(i had asked her if she would ever play it again so you never know...).

here are the highlights of the interview.
alison played 'everything is new' and 'fu manchu.' the pixies B side (wave of mutilation surf) was the B side of the week.
Frank on new album: made in LA; produced by Stan and Nick; features Joey.
Frank on music centre gig (dublin) - acoustic gigs draw out the uber-fans - you can do no wrong. doesnt feel pressurised to play pixies songs at gigs. only pressure is to entertain. :o)
Frank on pixies reunion - gets offers all the time to reform. always considering it on some level. they want MORE MONEY! frank has me in stitches now! they do practice together privately - apparently!
Frank on musical press - tabloid; music press isnt all about music - its about exploitation of personalities. like a 'rock tv show.'
Frank on solo Vs catholics - good to work with the catholics. likes live sound and thinks catholics are great (duh barry). feels good to be in a band like the catholics.
Frank on recording - likes live - no rules. no mixing. all decisions made then and there. selecting performances in contrast to 'making' performances - less processing involved. no desire to go back to contempory recording methods - prefers 1950s style.
Frank on songs on SMYT - most recent; oldest last summer. unlike other albums - no long terms songs (i.e modern age on DW)
Alison tells frank new album rocks. frank says thanks
Frank on other bands - best discoveries are little bands in little bars. these bands have 'pure' motivations - not commercially motivated. thus FB likes older bands and fairly obscure new music. its fun to be obscure - says frank. on nights off on tour he goes to small bands - and likes support slots.
great interview - FB - you are a class act. we cant wait to see you october 3rd! cheers
