I guess you know that Frank Black had his own "UFO-experience",
see his interview for UFO-Väst at
www.ufo.se/ufofiles/english/issue_2/ukblack.html .
I have never seen an UFO so far. But is anybody here, who has ever seen an UFO, like Frank Black (or his mother) did ? Have you experienced other mysterious things in your life ?

One time when I was about 8, I was eating breakfast. I had a glass of orange juice too. I swear the orange juice was disappearing faster than I was sipping. It was full, then I turned to munch on something else, and when I looked back in the orange juice cup, there was way less than before.

My mom saw a UFO 25-30 years ago. Not a satellite, shooting star, or other sky anomaly mistakeable for such, but a highly visible flying saucer hovering high above forested peaks.

I saw Whitley Strieber speak at a bookstore. He wrote "Communion" about his abduction experiences, plus a followup book, the title of which escapes me. He's a fascinating speaker and a bright guy. He addressed all of the discrediting factors, mental illness and the like, and concluded that he simply must've been abducted. Riveting and frightening stuff. And yet, I walked away concluding that he must be a lying fraud. Let's face it, this is like the topic of ghosts and hauntings. You have to remain skeptical until you encounter these phenomena yourself.

I live just outside a major city (Saskatoon, as most are humbly aware) and I had a friend over one evening when I was 12. We were playing the latest video game at the time and noticed some strange lights in about a klick away. They were very strange and seemed unearthy, and being home alone, there was no one to stop us from investigating. We left a note in case we were abducted or something happened to us, and made the trek to investigate the lights. As we got closer, we started to hear a bit of a whistling sound and the lights were shifting colour slowly. We got to the source of the light, finally, and it turned out to be a bunch of yard lights sitting in this guy's back yard. They were a whitish-green up close, but something in the air (even when we went back home and looked again) made them seem very strange looking, probably enhanced by the wind, which I can only conclude was whistling through the trees. We were so convinced that we were suspicious even when we saw the lights with our own eyes, and had to touch one.

Alright, so that isn't a mystery story, just youthful stupidity, but here's one that's well documented:

There's a city north of Saskatoon called Price Albert, and between the two centres is a small town on the river called St. Louis (as in the king, not the far more major American centre). Anyway, in this town, and I know many people who've seen this phenomena and tried to trace it down, there is a ghost train that comes along the tracks every now and again. People have tried chasing it, shining lights on it, etc, but it just disappears. There is nothing for headlights, the moon, etc to reflect from (the actual rails having been removed to eliminate the theory of it being the moon reflecting of the rails), there is no known explanation for it, but many people have seen it and someday I'd like to head up there and check it out. That's a mystery, I suppose.

Yard lights? For real? Sorry, but I'm a skeptic.

We were young, we (my friend) were (was) stupid. Yeah, I'm a skeptic too, but if you saw something that looked really foreign and strange, and maybe you'd just been playing some computer game like Masters of Orion or something and your imagination, even though you were skeptical, you'd probably still be curious. Maybe not curious enough to check it out, but curious nonetheless. I admit that I'm also skeptical, and even though I've heard of this ghost train from many people, I want to check it out for myself because I'm not sure I can believe their story. I mean, I'm sure they all THINK they saw it, but there's got to be a more logical explanation. And then again, maybe there's not, but I'll never really believe that until I see it for myself. And even then, I'm sure I'd be wanting to investigate and look for some way to explain it. But despite all this skepticism, I still believe that it's possible that ghosts do exist. Just no singular story.

I think Pioneer is skeptical about those really being just yard lights, and nothing more. Either you're mistaken, or they've gotten to you to.....

Yes, I always thought yard lights were just a myth. But I agree, while skeptical, I obviously can't disprove the existence of this stuff. In fact, the concept of ghosts scares me enough that I don't go looking for them. Ray Parker Jr I ain't. But a roadtrip to investigate the ghost train sounds adventurous. If you ever go, you should deliver a report here (or someplace I can access from under the sea).

That's Dean's solution to everything: live under the sea. It's NOT gonna happen.

Anyone ever have any psychic experiences? I dreamt that a space shuttle fell from the sky and broke like a china plate weeks before Challenger exploded in '86. There was a lot of fanfare before the launch, which probably put it in my thoughts. Also, after seeing Pere Ubu in the valley and having a martini, I visited a palm reader. She said I'd live to be 94 and would have two kids. She kept on throwing stuff out there and trying to read my face, but I'm sort of phlegmatic in real life, so finally she said, "Something has drawn you here tonight," and waited for me to fill her in. Playing along, I stared off to the side with a distraught look on my face and asked if my children would face the same sort of difficulties I had faced. She told me that the right medication could help me and my future children. The right medication? I asked her if it was really appropriate to give martinis to kids. Anyway, she was a fraud. But I did tip her handsomely, in that I told her to keep her day job and wear looser clothes.

I used to live in san antonio tx.. I THINK that's where Whitley Strieber was abducted. Somebody pointed out the area and told me about it as we were driving by.
I think there is alot to false memories. I've always had this be-czar memory of going to the dentist and freaking out because I thought a piece of metal had fallen off of one of the doctor's dental tools. They couldn't understand me because there was a suction tube in my mouth and I was afraid of moving my jaw too much for fear of swallowing it. The nurse was trying to hold me down as I started trying to get up and the dentist was trying to calm me down. After I fought my way out of the chair and had a chance to spit out the thing I swear I remember it being a small metal ball, like a BB, with gas coming out of it. I ran out and my mom took me home. Weird enough for ya'll? I've had some pretty vivid dreams.

I have been cursed for as long as I can remember with almost constant alien encounters. I think I must be the one they have chosen to make contact with. Only one alien appears to me most of the times through some sort of a stargate. This is a very polished, smooth and silvery surface. I have one installed in my bedroom on the wardrobe door. Most annoyingly these stargates are also found in shops dressing rooms. I go in one to try on some sexy knickers and hop, what you know?... I always find the same alien staring at me with a jerk smile on his face. I have tried communicating with him but all he does is to imitate me. I don't think I have been abducted (maybe except for this one time when I got very drunk and about 10 hours of my life went missing) but I can't be so sure about anal probing. Quite often I shit some really huge sausages, as thick as a forearm, that clogg up the toilet. Has that got anything to do with it?

A sufferrer.
