What do you think of SimCity 4 compared to SimCity 2000 (I skipped 3000)? I liked the old ones a lot more...SimCity 4 has way too much micromanagement to it to make it super addicting. However, I admit when it first came out, I played it 8+ hours a day straight for a week or so.

How can one be a gamer and remain productive? I, for some reason, lose interest in the game I currently play after a short time. I'll play for an hour maybe and just get bored...unless it's a brand new game that I truely love...then I'll play for hours. As I mentioned, SimCity 4 is the last game I've been able to play for hours on end without getting bored...in the past there's been more games like that, but not in the past year or so really.

Girlfriends and games: my girlfriend doesn't appreciate the hours I spend in front of the PC. She's said that we would have sex more often if I went to sleep the same time she did (I stay up till 1AM on the PC if I don't have to work early the next day). Curse, you, computers! I have a hardcore addiction to the computer, but games...I wouldn't consider it a true addiction. Now, if some REALLY GOOD games came out...

I would have to say that I spent the most time with 3000, and porbably enjoyed it the most. Sim City 4 was a larger, much more involved game, with more of the micro-management you spoke of. The graphical improvements were nice, and the variety in buildings was also a welcome addition. I also like the multiple linked cities, that worked fairly well. However, I found it was sometimes difficult to pinpoint what the problems in certain areas of the city were. You would have nice buildings built that were abandoned or had poor ratings, and it could be difficult to figure out what was bringing the quality down. Also, I would have like to have seen more in the way of infrastructure, specifically roads. Raod hierachry is extemely important and it's difficult to control such things in this game. I keep getting traffic noise complaints. Well, what can I do? It's not like I can just not have a road there, then no one can move in. And there's nothing below "street", so what do yo do? How many roads do they excpect a city to have? THere's a perfectly effecient and accesible highway, use it! Anyway, that aside, I like the game. But I played 3000 more. I'm not sure why.

No, I'd say, "go to bed" early, give her a good workout, and when she's fast asleep, sneak back on to the computer.

Also, if you ever want to break up with her, I recommend waiting until you're in the middle of things and she's really into it, and then just get up, walk out the bedroom door, and as she stares at the doorway in utter confusion, peak back in and say "Should have enough for a suspension bridge now." in a whispered voice and leave the room completely.

Because who didn't just leave their city on to make money. Or "I wonder how my city's doing?" It doesn't matter.

Oh man, SubSpace. That game gave me nightmares cause the ships are sooooo impossible to control. They'd just be flying around wildly and couldn't be stopped. It reminds me of the dreams I'd have where I'd be running and can't stop no matter what I do. Ahhhhhh!
