I have been using Cool Edit Pro 2 and Pro Tools. I am having problems when using the multitrack. When I mute a track and try to record another track the muted track bleeds into the recording. Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried reinstalling the drivers and that did not work. I use an Audigy 5.1 soundcard and I have this problem with both recording programs. It used to work fine and now it is not...what gives? HELP!!!!!
I got about half of my cover of The Vanishing Spies done and this problem started, please help! |

What is your recording source? Checkout the "Windows Recording Mixer" in CoolEdit and play with that. You should get zero bleed on a computer, of course. We (well, at least I) need to know more about your recording setup (are you playing the recorded tracks back through speakers/headphones, are you using a click track, ...) to help. |

Yeah, that's really weird, there should be absolutely no bleed.
My first guess is that some plugin, say reverb, is somehow carrying the signal over through the effects loop..? |

Are you recording "What You Hear" or "Analog Mix"? Try switching your Rec mixer to "Analog Mix" and see if that does the trick. |
