I want to start a thread, so I want to know what is your favourite FB gig and the reason why it was your favourite gig, what memorable moments can you recount.
So, for me it would be the Sheffield gig 2001 DITS tour. This was my first Frank Black gig. I'd waited for ages for him to tour Britain again and I finally got the chance to see him in the City of Steel at the Leadmill. In terms of memorable moments, for me was getting on stage during 'Men In Black' and jumping back in, and the end of the show (which Ive mentionned elsewhere on this forum) when the crowd applauded for maybe 5 minutes and Frank just stood there grinning in appreciation.
I saw FB&C three days later at the Astoria gig, and although this was a bigger gig, it was not a patch on the Leadmill.
Over to you guys.... |

Favorite gig has to be June 16, 2000 at the 9:30 Club. The Bennies, Reid Paley, and FB&TC. I had a backstage pass, so I got to see it all...same thing the night before at the Troc, but it wasn't as magical. Highlights of the night were seeing the sound check (probably were the first fans to see Blastoff performed period...), getting (well, jeremy getting) the copy of SSMVGD, Reid Paley identifying me as the "guy with the other band" to get backstage again (i forgot my pass in the dressing room), and watching the rest of FB&TC's set from their balcony. The entire show was magic and pretty much a blur...all I know is that everything was on that night. |
