It looks like Debaser has won this thing, although a lot of people seemed to be unhappy with the choices in the final round. It seems like everyone agrees Doolittle has some of the best Pixies songs, but no one can quite agree what they are. Anyway, in order from last to first song voted off, we have:

Debaser is not even one of the best songs off of Doolittle. El Barto, or Dave, make Vovat change the winner to Gouge Away or banish him from the forum. This is pure heresy!

Thats bollocks! By of course you are entitled to your opinion. The best song on Doolittle is Gouge Away, as thats the Pixies best ever song, and consequently my favourite song of all time!

Gouge away is not poppy in the slightest, have you ever heard gouge away???? Debaser is poppy.... No. 13 baby is one of the best on the album, how that was voted below Debaser is beyond me.

I really don't think having first vote makes much difference. In fact, it makes it harder to vote strategically, because I don't know what anyone else will vote for. For what it's worth, I don't think Debaser is the best song on Doolittle (I would have gone for several songs over that one; Gouge Away just isn't one of them), so I don't think it's my fault that it won. Now, whether I have the lamest taste in Frank/Pixies songs is a matter of opinion, but I don't see how my votes count more than anyone else. I DO think it might be a good idea to set a specific time of day as a cut-off for votes; I usually give roughly a day per round, and I never intentionally start a new round at a specific time so a certain song will win, but there HAVE been times when a few hours more or less might have made a big difference. The problem here is that I'm not always online at the same times every day. Any thoughts about this?

| A possible solution would be to limit the number of votes....say 25 votes per round? 30 per round? I notice not many rounds go over 30 votes. So if there's more, you just cut off at the 25 vote mark or something. Wouldn't matter if you start/stop at the same time. |

VoVat's first vote might make a difference (people like to vote strategically) if his taste was remotely decent. :)
I think that the Survivors are going just fine, VoVat does a good job of being consistent, and since it's for fun and really has no bearing on anything remotely relevant to anything, it really doesn't matter what wins or loses. |

Debaser is definitely the best. The most exiting vocal performance, the most interesting songwriting and I can't get enough of Dave's drumming especially coming back in after the 2nd verse.

Best song on Doolittle?...it would have to be between 'hey' and 'no.13 baby'!!!...I find it hard to believe that 'i bleed' came before 'Monkey gone to heaven'.
