From dotmusic.com:

<<Avril Lavigne is to make her mark in the movie world next year when her hit single, 'Sk8er Boi', is adapted for the big screen.

According to reports, Paramount Pictures have hired writer/producer David Zabel ('ER', 'Star Trek Voyager') to create a feature film around the words of the song.

The track, which focuses on the social divide between different cultures and cliques, tells the tale of a teenage girl who rejects the love of a skater boy simply because her friends don't approve.

Years later, the boy makes it as a famous rock star and the girl he once loved is a single mother with a young child, watching him "rockin' up MTV" and regretting her decision.

The movie project - to be produced by MTV Films and Alphaville - will share the title of the song and focuses on the classic storyline of love separated by social constraints.

Reuters reports that the film, although not a musical, will feature a heavy musical component in the style of the studio's previous hits, 'Flashdance', 'Footloose' and 'Save The Last Dance'.>>

has anyone seen SKATER DATER? which was an educational film from the 70's about teen relationships and whatnot.. it's one of those classic, dated educational films up there with RED ASPHALT.. funny stuff.

i bet SKATER DATER is better than this will be.

At first I thought this was a joke...a cruel, hurtful one...but a joke nonetheless.

Then I threw up all over myself.

Exploitation is the problem with capitalism, not in the proletariat sense, but in the sense that it takes away the things that people enjoy through mass production and profiteering.

"I read the slogans of the sloganeer
I smelled the engine of the engineer
I saw the profits of the profiteer"

Some of his best lyrics.. so simple.. so perfect.

Who cares about Avril Lavigne?Who remembers the Duran Duran's Simon le Bon film nowadays?Or that horrible thing that must have been Mariah Carey's "glitter".A bunch of singers do films for money or for glory but only rarely they do something interesting, examples:
1 "Eat The Rich" Featuring Lemmy from Motorhead
2 i dont't remember the tittle but it's a western with Courtney Love and Joe Strummer.Trashy but funny.
Actually i think that skater boy will be better than that horrible scifi film with Mick Jagger "Freejack" i think was the tittle...

I heard that today on MTV news, I was hoping it was just a really lame rumour. I hope it goes the way of Crossroads, slipping queitly into oblivion.

Good movies with pop stars in:
Hard Days Work(I think that what its called)? - Beatles
Head - Monkies
Man Who Fell to Earth - David Bowie

I think its greed that is the problem with capitalism, thats what drives the exploitation.

Man Who Fell to Earth! Oh my, such wackiness, Bowie uneffected by time.

Nicolas Roeg made good movies with pop stars, he did Performance with Mick Jagger, that was great as well.

bad Mick Jagger movie: Freejack, lame dystopian movie with Emilio Esteves
