Seems to have the answers!? Who agrees? Don't ask to elaborate. Figure it out. Don't want to blow a potential cover.

Yes, very interesting . . .
Whoever it is, they don't seemed too concerned about people being suspicious. They DO seem to have all the answers. I like the idea of FB being a fan of himself.
I don't think your topic title is going to confuse whoever it is. Even if it does, the confusion will only entice them to read more.
By the way, whatever happened to J Mascis and Ebb Vicious? Not that I want them back {the forum has been a much happier place without them}, but they seem to have disappeared completely (perhaps together.)

Don't think he's FB, but it wouldn't surprise me if he were, as BF put it, in the FB camp. |

I know who OMR is but haven't figured out CMKT yet.
All I can say is, you may be right. If so, more power to him.
He did have a good point in the RIFT post. |

could be, I'm sure someone on this board is frank with a fake ID, and that seems logical. By the way, what was the deal with the frankus blackus with a space between? That one's not really frank is it? |

Nope... the one with the title "No Title Necessary" is the real deal. The Man in Black, if you will. And even if you won't. |

Well, whoever the hell he is, it would be nice if we didn't weird him out or chase him off w/lengthy speculations as to his identity. Whatever happened to preserving the mystique?

I'm starting an email petition to persuade MIRV, Ebb Vicious, and J Mascis to patronize this board again. Any takers? (Yuk yuk yuk... sigh.) |

Hehe, it's time to go down with the ship with dignity...
OMR is Old Man River. CMKT is Charles Michael Kitteridge Thompson. FB is Frank Black.
I actually don't think it's FB. I'm probably wrong, or right... |

I haven't been posting in a while (except in some drunken circumstances) and I'm not too up on these OMR etc people however while we're naming names:
Mirv=J Mascis= One contender they are all the same I am pretty positive.
As for noticeable assholes on the site I am glad I didn't make the list although feel free to amend any lists currently under construction.
That's Better... It's about time I changed my signature |

I'd like to propose that CoF is really DK, one-time two-bit three-prong hustler and infamous nice guy, who may or may not have a fetish for girls that are in to good music and/or play soccer and/or are into computer games and may or may not emit a strange odour when in their proximity. |

Ach, I'm going to sound like an old 'net denizen here, but I've been on lots of forum boards, and there's always the local a-holes who exist solely to tick other people off, and then there's others who are nice, but prefer to remain mysetrious or anonymous. I like the latter, I accept that the former exist. In both cases, it's best to just let them both go, out of courtesy for the latter (and not try to play "Who Was Deep Throat" with them, like others have said, they're pleasant enough, why scare them away) and in the case of the former, why give them the attention they so desperately crave. I'm on a female-domanated board and there used to be this one jerk who would come around and we'd react, and that of course would (virtually/literally) fan the flames, and we learned that simply ignorning them made them go away. BUt in the case of OMR, if whoever he/she is wants to remain anonymous or mysterious (who cares if its FB?) that's part of the beauty of the 'net: you can assume a different identity and perhaps live life as an almost different person. Perhaps in OMR is FB, he'd just like to participate here as a fan of music in general without having his word treated as gospel. And if he's not FB, perhaps s/he has reasons for wanting to be fairly obscure. |

Yeah, but I'm 20 weeks' pregnant. If I were FB, in the words of John Cleese in Monty Python's Life of Brian, "Where's the fetus going to gestate? You going to put it in a box?" ;)
BTW, "Blackpurse" is a name I used once to log onto iVillage to ask a rather embarassing question regarding postpartum issues the last time I did this having a baby thing. It was very Brady Bunch the way I came up with the name: I was prompted for a login name, I looked around, and saw my black purse sitting on my desk at work. Voila. It had absolutely nothing to do with Frank Black Francis or anything. Just a black purse that goes with whatever I'm wearing that day. (Call me the Frugal Fashion Maven). |

Hey blackpurse, you think you will ever reunite with the Pixies and make a new album? What would it take for you to initiate a pixies reuinion?

Its in my profile: but following the "three clicks" rule of website design, I don't want to drive you away.... I'm married to Steaknsabre.
OK, I'll get my website up in a month to PROVE that we're just a couple of midwestern FB fans (although I'm kinda enjoying the speculation and the attention -- I AM a saggitarius after all)... so I'll throw out some more juicy titbits about us to keep the rumor mill going:
-- My band faded away about 4 1/2 years ago while I went to have a baby; however I was constantly fighting with my bass player about who was the frontperson in the band and "whose band is this really" even though I did all the administrative work, made all the contacts, and wrote the majority of the songs-- and financed our CD. Bass player is the opposite gender of me. Crucial difference: my bass player is an amazingly GOOD bass player and musician in general and when push comes to shove always comes through with the goods, that's why I put up with his shit. (we keep threateing to reunite, but while "motherhood (doesn't) mean mental freeze" it sure does put a band in stasis!)
-- Husband's band recently got most of their back catalog (almost all of which is hard to find vinyl) reissued on CD by some austrailain label.
-- We are both heavily into instrumental surf music and count Dick Dale and Link Wray among our favotire recent live shows
-- Oh, I'll think of more!!!!

I know this... just thought I'd plant some rumors. I remember one board I frequented where on Halloween we all agreed to create new logons ("costumes") and spend the whole day posting, then agree to reveal ourselves the next day... and spend the whole day trying to guess who each other were just by our writing styles... or trying to throw each other off by posting in each other voices. It works really well if you've got at least 5-10 denizens whose posting style is easily parodied: easily accomplished here!! |

wow, this got my attention piqued, so I checked out some of OMR posts. The railing anti-NME "never forgave frank for breaking up the Pixies" thing I think shows that its not Frank, as Frank always has a shoulder shrugging response to bad press. Could be his mother though, ha. |
