I've stolen this from the Elvis Costello site. The person who started it there stole it from the Bob Mould site. This is how it goes - we start with 10 songs (I'll start it off with the 10 that are currently on the Costello site)
Here are the rules (stolen almost verbatim from the Bob Mould site)
I'll start by listing TEN SONGS in no particular order that live in the Tower of Song. These are to be the best of the best.
The next person to post has to THROW ONE SONG OFF of the Tower of Song list I started. In its place, he/she must put in a NEW SONG. This will last a given amount of time -- let's say, until 4th of July weekend -- and the songs that lasted the longest are the ten songs that live in the Tower of Song -- the true classics as collectively determined by us.
Once a song has been thrown off, IT CAN'T BE BROUGHT BACK, so you'll have to pay attention. You can repeat a particular artist or group as much as you like (e.g. if one Beatles song you like gets tossed, add a different song by them), but once a song has been disposed of, it's banished from the TOWER for good. It therefore may not behoove you to post up your absolute favorite song in the world first, hehe. A bit of strategy might be in order if you want your truest gem of a tune to stay in the game.
Third rule: No Frank Black/Pixies Songs (that part wasn't on the Bob Mould site) -- That's just too obvious

Okay, slight clarification - you don't have to nessecarily take the song off the bottom (which I don't know if you did Carolyanna - I am just making sure) & I guess we should also say what we are taking off and what we are adding. You can even say WHY if you care too.
