I don't know what you guys think, but of all the new songs, this track is outstanding. Why was it left off and is there any way to still get it added? I can't imagine Frank would deliberately leave it off but what the hell do I know. |

Thats like 21 Reasons, a cracking version was being played live before DITS was released but got added to BLD album. This could be a good sign that Frank has got a plethora of cracking songs up his sleeve for an even further future release. I can't wait to hear his new album, why can't it be released earlier than Sept which at the moment seems too far away.

i wasn't immediately taken aback by don't clip your wings. it sounds good, but not like the most steller of the new stuff. nadine is absolutley killer live, and i think massif centrale and horrible day will be GREAT on record

I tend not to care much about new songs until they appear on actual records. There have been a couple of FB songs that I didn't fully get until hearing them on the album. For instance: - I'll Be Blue: not so great Internet-only release, but a killer song on Dog In The Sand. - 21 Reasons: I found the live version from the Madison gig a bit boring, and I absolutely love the BLD version. - End Of Miles: That's more complicated. The song was available in RealAudio on the Cooking Vinyl site, and it didn't do much to me at first (whereas San Antonio, TX was great since the beginning). It took me a lot of listenings to eventually find End Of Miles is one of the best songs off BLD. So I can't really say anything about the new songs. Nadine is very cool; Manitoba is better in the acoustic version than with the full band; and Horrible Day is quite good but nothing more. I haven't heard the other ones, as I still haven't bought the HearItAgain gigs. But I'm certain that the next album will be a killer, so I don't mind if the live versions don't appeal to me particularly.

I was even more critical when "I Want Rock and Roll" was on the internet as a free download. I heard it and thought "Heh?" Then on Pistolero I just up and died-ed. "I'll Be Blue" was so stupid when I first heard it live, and then on DITS it's stuck in my head. My poor head!

"Don't Clip Your Wings" will probably be released as a B-side for some song on SMYT. |
