I know this topis is a little dated, but I just bought this recording yesterday, and it seriously rocks. The mix is wicked, and it really reflects the songs themselves.. what I mean is, I guess, the acoustic guitar and vocals are pretty high in the mix and this emphasizes the nature and core of the songs.
Best live non-studio Frank I've heard.

Mike, while you're here... Where are the 5 free tracks you were offering a while back? I bought the second concert last Saturday and couldn't find the link to the free mp3s anywhere on the site.

hey mike! i bought the slim's show last week and i'm just listening to it now. this has to be the sloppiest editing job i've ever heard! the fades between the first bunch of tracks - what's that all about? anyone else notice this? i guess you rush to get these shows on to the website, but have ever heard of a cross-fade? i'm totally self-taught on sound forge and could make a better sounding edit of this show in two hours - provided i had access to the original tapes.
sorry to come off sounding bitter, but i guess i am. all this talk about how great the slim's show is... yeah, i'm disappointed. the sound quality is pretty good, but i just can't listen to a show where there's an ugly edit at every track break. i thought i'd burn a copy of the show tonight, but now it looks like i'm going to have to spend an afternoon re-editing your edit.
i realize that this complaint may seem fussy to most folks - anal retentive even - but that's just how i am.
i'm not so sure if my $11.95 was well spent.

I think (but I'm not sure) that the fades between the first several tracks is because there was a BUNCH of talking there that was edited out. I'm only guessing that because in the reviews people said there was a lot of talking in the show |

Vilainde, they were only available in May, Big Galoof, I do agree with you, though I tend to be a little less fussy on the crowd noise fades, but I just use Nero with about a 0.4 second crossfade and it worked for almost all the tracks. Also, I'm thoroughly convinced that the best place to break the concert up is after Robert Onion. You start the second disc with all those new ones, Robert Onion's a good song to close on, etc. And NimrodsSon, there is definitely some talking edited out (for some reason), which I was disappointed with too, but what do you do. |

I think you get an email with a link or something, don't you. But it expires in 24 hours, so you might have to contact them. |

How the f*** do you get this file to work? I downloaded the San Francisco show, but it's not in mp3 format, it's an ASP file. What's an ASP file? Did I just waste my money or is someone going to help me? |

you need to open it up in winzip, then you will have all the individual mp3's. i was confused at first too, kept trying to click on the download and my ms frontpage kept trying to open it up. cult of frank, that's exactly what i did, broke the disk up after robert onion...took a little kanoodling, but ended up with one very rockin' fb show (on two discs). "i want rock-n-roll" rocked just as hard as it did when i saw them. my new current favorite. |

Also most of the intro to Los Angeles (the first :47) are in the prior track, Mr. Grieves...this makes it a pain in the ass if you play them in winamp in random order, as you can imagine.
