You all love newbies, right? Good. I just got into these guys about...oh...3 weeks ago. A friend made a "best of" comp for me and I'll be damned if I don't love it. I'll be buying all the reissues as soon as they come out.

be careful. there's nothing particularly different about the reissues...just different record labels having the rights to sell them or something. Should be the exact same cd inside.

| Yeah, always good to add another member to the Cult of Frank. :) Not me, the real Frank. By which I mean Charles. Curious which songs grabbed you right away and which took a few listens to appreciate. I always debate what to put on a CD I make to introduce people to FB/Pixies. |

I'll probably get a lot of shit for this but here goes. Of course I'd heard of The Pixies since who knows when but never listened to anything of theirs. Then I saw a little segment on that VH1 "Top 100 Hard Rock Bands of All Time" and liked what I heard. I had a friend who I knew liked them and asked himn to make a mix for me. Thats pretty much all I've heard so far is whats on that disc. My favorites have been Bone Machine, Debaser, Here Comes Your Man, Monkey..., Letter to Memphis. Hell, i dunno...I don't hate any of em. But those seem to be the ones i keep going back to.
I got a Replacements comp from the same guy which I'm also devouring. But I suppose thats for another board. |
