I'd go for Lou Reed, Jimi Hendrix, Roger Daltry and Nina Simone.
I'll have changed my mind in two minutes, but hey...

Funny Coz I was thinking about putting Jim White in there too - if you get the chance check out Wrong-eyed Jesus and No Such Place; they give you a real taste of life in Mobile and folk meeting country with some blues and pop too...

Now we are on alt-country how about Chuck Prophet? Any Green on Red fans out there? I saw Chuck in Edinburgh in May - one of the best gigs I have seen for a long time |

for some bizarre reason i think it would be hilarious to see FB play with the guys who play the music on the Frank Skinner show (not too sure if anyone outside UK or Ireland will know them..). oh yeah.

Rich Hall aka Otis Lee Crenshaw and the Black Liars!!!
I think this guy would add a novel spin to Frank's latest work!

I gotta go with Bob Dylan. Dylan dips into the country well quite a bit, as does FB. They've both been known to rock it up as well. |

Captain Beefheart. I'm sure Eric could sway it - even if the great Captain is not well. They could do 85 weeks. Or Blast Off - that sounds like it has a Beefheart influence |

I heard FB might be touring with the White Stripes, they're gonna fill in for the Catholics, who are a little busy right now with other engagements...
White Stripes will open, and then back FB up.

I agree with paul westerberg, he gives an awesome sense of americana like Frank. I would really like to see frank black play with ween ( no not his own ween, the band ween) both of them have a certain sarcastic but focused outlook onn life and music.

I agree about Teenage Fanclub. I just love the John Peel sessions they did together. What a great backing band they made - no disrespect to The Catholics, though!

I'm sure you're all familiar with the short series of shows back in 1993 which featured Frank Black with They Might Be Giants. If those two collided again and tried to compose something, I believe the outcome would be breathtaking, to say the least. |

Dietr's right - and fb mentioned wanting/not minding to play with them again - though, it'd be a live-to-mono children's album. if only fb+c could cover 'following an angel' - for there's slide guitar in them choruses..

I saw an article about Dave Grohl were he described how much he admired FB. It would be cool to see Frank with the Foo Fighters.
I'd kinda like to see Frank Black and John Fruciante of the RHCP do solo shows together. |

Regarding frobee's comment... My sister made me listen to the Moldy Peaches this week-end and they wrote something really funny on the cover, like some kind of "template" for the journalists to review their record. It said something like "I love the Moldy Peaches. They're (insert adjective). When I listen to them I always want to (insert verb). Too bad they're just a (insert band name) rip-off!!!". Well you probably have to see it to get it, but it was funny.

Dave is a huge Pixies/FB fan. A little story I heard...Dave had asked Frank to sing/scream backup with him on the song "Enough Space" from The Colour And The Shape, but Frank declined saying he did it well enough alone. Apparently, though, FB was sitting next to Dave while he was doing vocals for the track. Later on, they ended up singing together (along with Bowie) on a track called Jewel by Reeves Gabrels. |
