We sent a few emails to each other, but it was right around the time when Frank's shit got stolen and Dave was just about to start opening up for him with his science act. I would've been hard pressed to come up with the cash anyhow to fly him to Boston from LA and put him up for a week, pay him for rehearsals and the recording, etc. He was willing to do it though, and very nice. I was happy he took me seriously.

| it is not confirmed at all! this is so foolish! did anybody look at the writer of the original MTV story?? IT'S JASON BLAIR!!!!!!! don't hold your breath, as it would be silly for frank to bail on a US tour to support SMYT as would it be an insult to spinart and his other distribution labels who backed this release. |

Wait a minute, that's true...FB&TC *might* be doing Australia in February, and I do believe they were definitely supposed to tour the US in Spring '04.

The reunion thing I can handle
But the new album stuff I can't get my head round - try and imagine a happy marriage between Title TK and Show me Your Tears ???
Your going to have two pretty strong influences coming into play on any new stuff. It could either be an amazing happening, or a claws out fight for dominance between Frank and Kim
Is there any clue about how they get on now? - they never seemed to say anything positive about each other.

| just thought of this dont know if its been posted yet. this rumor thing being every where good be test of sorts. remember when frank did that interview when he has day dreams of the pixies playing again and he is a afaird of no one showing up. i dont know the exact quote but you know what i mean. well these rumor could be to see how much people want it. like on the 4ad site with the e-mail. they may have gotta more emails this week then they get all year concerning other matters. and if frank heres this he just might be like hey people really do want this. or this could be some hoax. im leaning towards the latter. |

well just read carefully what it's written on the 4ad page about the pixies... it's just another rumour... ken goes just said that he received a purposal for a pixies' tour in spring 2004 and that he's always received a dozen of that kind of purposal every year...
I don't believe to this rumour...

i am going to have my semi/x girlfriend consult the i-ching on this matter
-with specific questions such as will they play dates in australia etc.
as i have seen the i-ching method work with deadly accuracy before and
frankly all that goes on around here is current band lovers VS. pixies lovers.
-Frank is starting to talk and act like an old man -he certainly isn't but
lately his quotes seem to be including things along the lines of ..'i'm
getting old now'...and that makes me think that a minimal one off pixies
thing is possible but still not very likely -but when he is in rip-snortin'
mode you could see him saying yeah why not do an album, tour etc.
i'm refering recently to when i browsed some rolling stones issues
(the actual paper ones)i saw that he did a guest revue thing of some singles,
he said he couldn't understand the vocals on one and offered the explanation
that he was probably getting old.
i like the new LP (SMYT) but as i hear it it seems very safe and sentimental
and if you ask me it is a conscience effort to offer something so steeped
in classic americana that he becomes wildly popular overseas.
it just seems like a safe and sound business direction to increase market audience
to me a pixies re-union could offer a forum for Frank the dangerous
instead of Frank the safe.
the benefits of that longstanding legend the pixies would definitely put him in a place
where simply being good is the main prerequesite -fuckall elses as far as tone and content
-so long as it soars.
