OK here is how it works, A few of us have been tossing the idea of funding a Frank show for us forum folks. we would pitch in money and would fund Frank to play, where ever it is easiest for him and could have a union of true fans and maybe even have it be a cd release party. NOW! before you say BAAAHHH thats never going to happen, think....BAAAHHH that will happen! and it would be very very cool. Ideas of a BBQ show or something along those lines would be cool, so if you want this to happen and hey i really think it could! post a messsage or just post your name as an interested person. and if we get enough folks interested it we could see what happens. so here I go

And what about Paris ? The only question that has to be answered is : When do they come to Europe ?? There are so many fans waiting for them here... and they are touring for months in the US, aren't they ? |

Dublin would be the perfect venue. I am sure that there are enough people who are familiar and have connections enough to set it up. I would help and pay whatever price for that show!

I say it's a fab idea... they aren't that expensive. We could do an east coast show, and a west coast show. and if those are succesful, an european show. I vote for NYC. (Though I live in virginia), it seems like a good hub to hold such an event. |

I would definetly be happy to contribute. If we planned far enough in advance (which we would have to given Frank busy schedule, I'm sure) we could get a block of rooms in a hotel or something (Dublin or wherever) - as an admin asst this is something I do all the time. Am happy to help in an organizational way...

I like the private webcast idea. Perhaps from the comfort of his living room with his pets looking on.
I'd pitch in for a forum funded concert, but if you do it in Dublin, we'll have to pay to fly everyone over. It'd be cheaper to fly the handfull of Dubliners to the US. Unless you're planning a solo Frank show.

I think US to Dublin is cheaper than the other way around, but I could be wrong. When I have more time I will research some cheap flights. |

I'm down with and will contribute to whatever. There is no price too large for anything exclusive from the man himself. I'd gladly travel halfway around the world for Frank.

i still think Los Angeles is the best idea.. the fact that i live there is only a coincidence..
seriously though, how many people are here from Dublin? the idea is to make it easiest for the largest number of people.. i'm guessing there are more people here from the US than anywhere else..
factor that in with the fact that Frank lives in LA and it's kind of a no-brainer..
if we were actually to pitch something like this to Frank, don't you think he'd be more likely to do it if you said, the gig will be 10 miles from your place..
just saying..
internet shminternet... let's do this up right. BBQ baby!
let's raise the anti to $100. that way, we'll only need around a 100 people to get involved.. (if more can make it, all the better.. but let's be realistic)..
if we could find a free venue we'd be set. virtually all profits will go directly to Frank and the band. .. what do you say Frank.. wanna make an easy 10 grand for a short day's work? |

I vote for Ramona to organize this, and I vote for it to be on the east cost, though if it end's up on the west coast, I'd still make it there. frankblackphx confirmed that Frank's new cd will be out in September, so maybe September would be the best time...
Also, $100 seems fair. |

I think that if we could catch Frank when he and the band were on tour in Europe (hopefully soon) they should feel as though we are attempting to accomodate them for our needs. Also, I have a couple of good contacts as far as venues go and I am sure that Bazza would help.

If this forum raises 10 large, I'd have to say Frank would do it. But how many would be willing to contribute if they could not go?? Location of the gig would be a high priority. If it's within an 8- hour drive (from Brewtown), I'm in for $100. Let me also suggest Labor Day weekend. That will give that extra day for travellers to return home. There's probably enough forum members with bands to provide support as well..(..opens can of worms...) Let's make it a two day blowout, with Frank headlining both nights, of course. If I get a chance this weekend, I'll ask the man himself if he's game......Stay Tuned |

Well, maybe if folks could contribute more, then they would - I mean, I could easily go in for $200 so perhaps I could sponsor some poorer FB fan who can't afford it or something. I would need to see your credit history though...
Also, I heard that Frank and the boys may be heading to Europe in September - so we would probably just have to go wherever he could. I guess we could suggest a couple areas - I have no idea how that would work. But in the end, aren't we just wanting to see Frank SOMEWHERE?? Basically some people are going to HAVE TO shell out some travel bucks and we can't please everyone. I am up for Los Angeles or Dublin or wherever. I think it would be very cool to travel somewhere else for the purpose of seeing Frank. I don't need him to come to me - the East Coast is boring!
Either way, it is a very exciting idea and I am happy to help however I personally can.

Alright let's use some logic. Where is the best country to have the concert in? The USA of course. More Frank fans here than anywhere else. Okay then, where is the logical meeting point for so many Frank fans scattered about a sprawling country... Right in the middle of course. Somewhere in the midwest. St. Louis, Chicago, Topeka...somewheres like that. Not all the way at one coast or the other. Did I mention I live in the midwest? ;) |

I think we need to not haggle about THE BEST PLACE and try to figure out where the best place would be for Frank (most realistic, etc) - then we will just all make an effort to either be there or not.
That said, I would much prefer to fly over the middle of the country and land on a coast. |

Excellent! i agre with ramona whole heartedly, if we were to do this it would have to fit into Frank's agenda and his convenience so if it was at a time when he was not on tour maybe the california eare would suit his needs best, in terms of travel wise but if he is on tour we would have to try and get in a couple dates (regarding the 2 day blow out). but we need to focus on when and how much, i think everyone agrees that price isnt too big of a deal. so who do we get to contact him or his agent? any ideas? PS RAMONA, you rawk with all the answers.

We could try Sarah from SpinArt - that is my first idea. Maybe she would at least be kind enough to pass us onto the right person. I will try emailing her and let you all know what happens... |
