Yeah, he's played St. Louis plenty of times before. Bartholomew's from Greenville, I believe, and I'm moving to Edwardsville in about six months. He's played Blueberry Hill on Delmar, Karma on Delmar (which is now gone), and The Galaxy, on Washington. St. Louis doesn't have the strongest rock scene around, but we have plenty of great record stores. Vintage Vinyl and uh, that other one, on the U-City Loop (on Delmar St.) are pretty rocking places. In fact, the entire U City Loop is a fun place to go; The Pageant's there, which is a pretty big venue. Richard Thompson's playing there May 9, so I'll probably be there. There's also The Gargoyle, which is in the basement of some building on Washington University where some bands with relative popularity play sometimes (The Raveonettes and the Mooney Suzuki are playing there soon).
Fuck, trying to think of other places of interest. Head to The Hill if you like Italian food, lots of great places there, like Rigazzi's or Favatza's (sic). Another fun thing to do is drive down private drives around the DeBelviere area in the middle of the night and have the security guards bitch at you (to answer your question: yes, I am easily amused).
Welcome to St. Louis. One more thing: the Arch isn't St. Louis's greatest institution, Beatle-fucking-Bob is. If you go to shows in the area, you'll eventually meet him. Don't worry, you'll know who he is on-sight.
