Hello my fellow Frank Black and Pixies fans. Iīm a hardcore fan when it comes to FB&C and the pixies. I own more or less everything released except bootlegs and such. Anyway I just wanted to recomend some other bands/artists which might be of interest to you all:

Roky Erickson
Gun Club (the early stuff)
Fugazi
Circle Jerks
Hot Snakes
Built to spill
Love Battery

You've probably heard most of these bands but if you havenīt, check 'em out. I really like them a lot. If anyone has any suggestions of bands worth checking out (which might have some resemblence to pixies and fb&c) come on and note them...peace

British punk rockers McLusky formed in the late #65533;90s, in Wales, with a three-piece line-up consisting of Andrew Falkous (guitar, vocals), Matthew Harding (drums), and Jonathan Chapple (bass). Playing an ardent style of punk rock, amidst reminiscences of British punk and indie style rock, McLusky managed to offer their first album in 2000. My Pain and Sadness Is More Sad and Painful Than Yours hit the record stores via the Fuzzbox records label. The album conquered exciting reviews by the media and presented the band with even more exposure within the Brit alternative rock scene. Almost two years after, in April of 2002, the trio recorded their full-length disc, McLusky Do Dallas, this time trough Too Pure records. Steve Albini, one of the most recognised producers within the alternative rock arena, was in charge of the production of the album, a record that sustained even more McLusky's cult in the U.K. and beyond.

I highly recommend Jonathan Richman for anyone who hasn't heard him yet. Seriously, at least check out "I'm Straight" and "Pablo Picasso"

Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers

WARNING: Some punk band (Dandy Warhols?) covered Pablo Picasso for the Repo Man Soundtrack, but seriously...check it out.

Signatures are for wusses...yeah, that's right...wusses.

I actually think Jonathan's best stuff has come after the first Modern Lovers album. "Back In Your Life" is one of my favorite songs of all time, and I usually never listen to lyrics in songs, but the lyrics in BiyL are just fucking great. "Oh take me way up north to meet your mom and dad, so they'll see that Jonathan ain't quite so bad!"
