I had to sit in college and watch Bill Hicks for Media studies or something, I think the tutor was just being a lazy prick, but Hicks was hilarious if not disturbing(something about Satans feed bag?), those were the good old day's sighhhhhhhh... I watching a programme on Lenny Bruce last night, he was another guy who really shook up the shit!

You did'nt go to see Dylan Moran In Vicar Street Bazza, I was going to after he told Pat Kenny on the Late Late Show(the one time I've watched it in years) that his(Pat's) legs were made out of wood chipping and that he(Moran) spent his days in his house covered from the waist down in cocaine while dwarves attended him and he had to kick loads turkish delight out of his way to get out of his house! and poor Mr Kenny, the gobshite, did'nt have a clue what to say to that!

I love Bill Hicks. Few comics touch on the taboo topics Hicks excessively did, from Kennedy to Jesus, to acid to blow jobs, the man had very adamant opinions. I respect that and happen to agree with a great deal of his opinions. And in adition to being extremely opinionated he was indeed funny. The closest thing now to Hicks I'd say would be George Carlin.
I think for pure funny, no politics, religion etc., Mitch Hedberg is the best.

i always laugh about bill hicks easter sketch. he gives out about bunny rabbits and chocolate eggs - insisting that goldfish and lincoln logs are more representational. then he mentions the classic quote
mummy mummy! a goldfish came and laid lincoln logs in me sockdrawer! mum: thats the story of jesus! class act. sorely missed.
