I really, really need to do some trading! I have some three trades overdue and I haven't yet recieved anything from the new FB&TC stuff. I'd also really like stuff by all the artists I've got, plus Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers boots, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Suzanne Vega, Eric Clapton, Tom Waits, White Stripes, Calexico, I Am Kloot, Morrissey, Blues Traveler, Muddy Waters, and many, many more
Here is what I've got:
Frank Black and the Catholics 22.03.01 Live in Zwolle, Netherlands (2 CDs) 06.05.01 W.O.W. Hall, OR (2 CDs Lots of rare covers) 04.05.02 Mystic Theatre, California (2CDs – Great ‘Catholicized’ version of ‘Headache’ and a very good ‘Are You Headed My Way’)
David Bowie The Last Hero, 1996 (1 CD Really great concert, although incomplete) 16.07.00 One Night In New York, Roseland Ballroom (2 CDs, best of set list, mediocre sound)
Breeders 17.05.94 Live in Stockholm (1 CD – “official” bootleg – great sound quality)
John Cale 06.09.92 John Cale and Strings, Art Project Munich (1 CD) 26.07.02 Fragments Of A Sunny Day, Kulturzelt, Kassel, Germany (2 CDs) Ready for War: Outtakes.
Nick Cave 17.08.96 Ring of Wild Roses Bizarre Festival, Koln (1 CD+ bonus tracks) 08.06.01 Dirty Old Man, Transbordeur, Lyon. (1 CD – great versions of Saint Huck and especially The Curse of Milhaven, with introductions of the musicians between the verses – very cool. A fine recording) 18.01.02 Belvoir, Australia (2 CDs without the bad seeds! Great versions of ‘Wild World’ and ‘Dead Joe’)
Charlie don’t Surf The Aquinas Solution (1 CD: shameless plug for my own CD – but hey, I did trade it!)
Leonard Cohen Montrieux 1976 (2 CDs) Iceland 1988 (3 CDs including interview and the best ever version of ‘First We Take Manhattan’) 21.05.93 Blossoms of Heaven, Ashes of Hell, Congresshalle, Zurich, Switzerland (2 CDs)
Bob Dylan 21.05.00 Horsen Teatr, Denmark. (2 CDs including a really nice ‘My Back Pages’, powerful ‘Gotta Serve Somebody’ and ‘To Be Alone With You’) 01.10.00 True Love Needs No Company, Münster, Germany (2 CDs – a really great show, highlights: Country Pie, Dignity and Visions of Johanna and I Shall Be Released) 25.03.01 Roving Gambler, Centennial Park Parade, Sydney. (1 CD – wonderful versions of Absolutely Sweet Marie and ‘Till I fell in Love with you’) Driftin’ & Escapin’: Neverending Highlights 1993-2002 (1 CD – songs from various shows from the Never Ending Tour, including Blind Willie McTell, Senor, Mississippi and License to Kill, among other songs)
P.J. Harvey 24.06.95 Live Goes the Night, Glastonbury Festival. (1 CD)
Pixies 11.07.91 Subuculta, Leysin Festival Switzerland (1 CD – great show, very good sound quality except for Kim Deal’s singing in ‘Into the White’)
The Police Every Breath You Take, 1983 Montreal and New Jersey (1 CD) Iggy Pop Pop’s power, live in Germany 1996 (1 CD – good Iggy, average band. Good sound quality and ‘best of’ song collection, though)
R.E.M Blacksessions: Live in Paris 1998(?) (1 CD)
Lou Reed 1989, New York City Blues: Live in Los Angeles (1 CD – selections from New York, plus a few older songs – mostly 80s stuff. Notable for that rarest of rarities: a cover, of One for My Baby (and one more for the road) by Arlen and Mercer) 1992, Magic & Loss tour (2 CDs: 1- M&L, 2- New York and Drella songs, a few oldies and the Paris 1991 Version of ‘Heroin’ by the Velvets – worth the CD alone for hardcore fans) 1992, Iron and Ice, Magic and Loss Tour (1 CD – much better than the other M&L CD. Featuring a selection of M&L, NY, early solo stuff and Velvet songs, and fantastic versions of ‘Nobody but You’ and especially ‘Images’) 24.04.00 Modern Dance, Live at the Phillipshalle, Dusseldorf (2 CDs – great sound, recorded for German TV, I believe. Pretty diverse set, most songs from ‘Ecstasy’, but with songs from ‘Blue Mask’, ‘New York’, ‘Set the Twilight Reeling’ and ‘Transformer’, among others. Notable for the absence of the f-word in the last line of ‘Small Town’ – in most shows that tour, Reed sings ‘you fuckin’ hate it, and you know you gotta leave’ “-)
Patti Smith 01.08.96 Tell it Like it Is, Markethalle, Hamburg, Germany (1 CD – nothing too exciting, I actually heard a much better boot of the same tour. Still, I like it because I’ve actually been at the Markethalle once – great venue)
Sting Desert Skies: Brand New Day Tour 2000(?) (1 CD – I’m not particularly interested in Sting boots unless they are exceptional in some way)
Television 1978, Live in San Francisco. (1 CD – great beginning with ‘The Dream’s dream’. Afterwards, a fairly typical show from that era, mostly ‘Adventure’ songs plus Friction, LJJ, Satisfaction and of course, Marquee Moon. Pretty good sound quality, though, better than the official live album) Amazing, Illustrious & Debonair: Live in Glastonbury 1992(1 CD – great performance, some sound problems with Richard Lloyd’s guitar)
Velvet Underground 09.06.93 Take a Trip, Rotterdam (2 CDs – very similar show to the official release – for hardcore fans only)
