According to the search engine, this hasn't been mentioned here yet.
The Beards' album from last year, Funtown (http://www.sympathyrecords.com/catalogue/pages2/SFTRI665.html), closes with a cover of "Thallasocracy".
The Beards are a one-off "side project" band made up of Lisa Marr from Cub, Kim Shattuck from The Muffs, and Sherri Solinger from Buck. Kim Shattuck sings the "Thallosocracy" cover (she's one of the better pop songwriters around and she has a great voice and a great scream, if you know of her). It's a good cover, very garage-y.
Incidentally, The Muffs also recorded a cover of Kim Deal's song, "Pacer" (from the Amps album). It's on The Muffs' singles/b-sides/outtakes album, Hamburger.
