Well, I saw someone mention Clinic, and I thought, we need a topic that will bash this worst than the 2002 Rolling Stones, worst than 1980s Tom Jones, worst than hairless Phil Collins band!

I saw Clinic opening up for Radiohead, and boy, did they suck. No, suck isn't quite the word. I don't think there EXIST a word. Clinic are damn near close enough to give all of Rock'n'Roll a bad name. They're like - I don't know, it's undescribable. It is a mystery. How can four (five?) people with guitars and drums suck that, that badly?

They played a super annoying song (no doubt some latent Clinic fan will supply us with the name) when they stop every once in a while and shout "No". Like, THAT'S ORIGINAL. During the concert, I has everyone shout "Go Away" when they stoped during that song.

Some may say that this post is mean spirited, insulting and tasteless - but it isn't nearly as much any of these things as Clinic is!

I believe that song is called "walking with thee" That happens to be the only Clinic song I've heard, but it isn't that bad. I don't know how much I'd listen to them though.

I disagree completely. I saw them at Spaceland in LA Oct 2001 and they were great, then they played here again Oct 2002 and were just as good. One song after another, no between song banter BS. The masks give them a cool dry humor. Putting a mask over your face is about the most anti-rockstar thing you can do. The tunes are catchy and short. I like the unconventional rock instruments, like that cheesey keyboard/recorder. Then there's the cool organ sound. Love or hate them, at least they made an impression on you.

Hey hey, c'mon now. Clinic are easily my pick for best newish band around right now. Omer, give them another shot, borrow one of their records from somebody and listen to it. Radiohead concerts are stuffy, overcrowded, and exhausting...so maybe that was why you hated hearing them, you know, waiting impatiently for Radiohead to come on and all.

Maybe we need to dig deeper into Omer's past to find the root of his hatred for men in surgical masks-- his neurosis, if you will. Perhaps a compulsory visit to a medical facility? Some sort of surgery gone awry?

BLT - they didn't wear masks in the concert I was in, so no fear of Masks as an excuse.

Itchload - actually, I'm not a huge Radiohead fan, and was even less a fan back then. I mean I LIKE them well enough, but I don't really know their songs, and wasn't dead excited about the concert. Still Radiohead were very good, and Clinic sucked. Big time.

I have to totally agree with itchload, I saw Clinic about a two years ago and I really loved them and I love Internal Wrangler which I own, The Return of Evil Bill is a brillant song! They hav'nt had such great reviews for thier last album(which I've heard bits of and thought was pretty good) but it's still great shit compared to whats out thier and your mans voice is great! And the whole surgical masks and uniforms thingy is really cool!

Hey, therewererumours, I'd heartily recommend buying their new album. After numerous listens, I think it's totally on par with Internal Wrangler, it's just a bit moodier, not quite as punky (still punky in places).

The video for "Walk with Thee" was played all the time over here, it's really funny and cool and my friends and I really think it sounds Pixie'ish.

For those interested, here are some slightly crummy photos I took of Clinic on their first visit to California:
