Just announced - as anyone who is on the emailing list will now know

I see they are playing the bandstand at Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow again - I might just be tempted to try and get along to that (even if it's to just stand outside the area and listen)

As far as I am aware, I'm not one of the support acts

They have been playing Blown Away the last week. That's a recent addition this tour.
Also Los Surfers Muertos in Zagreb, but sadly now YouTube-video's turned up

All the blahems you could ever want

Thanks. I watched some of them. Is there a Whoa Black Betty (Bam-ba-lam) Blahem in there somewhere? I'd like to see that - might make a request.

At the 8/14 show it was still 1.0 heavy but they only played one tune from SR, how about that?

All the blahems you could ever want ^

Season 2 of Limmy's Show is well worth tracking down, probably the last great character sketch show.

Totally missed that, very good. His FBF impression needs a bit of work though I reckon? No idea what a blahem is, is it an old Glaswegian term or a new made up internet word? I see it's some kind of Limmy thing anyway

Nah some subscriber tipped him some money to do a Tame blahem on one of his daily streams. It's a pity he doesn't do sketches anymore but I can appreciate his reluctance to work with other people.

What Limmy stuff is this? I had a look on twitter and found a tweet about Tame at Brixton in 91 and that's it - is there some sketch I missed?
The Maharal Posted - 08/07/2022 : 10:27:07
Yeah it was very nice seeing Limmy go on about Tame and ''not an iPhone in sight'' haha. He also did a Tame blahem a few months ago. He had to search on Google for the lyrics but still cool seeing two worlds collide.

Limmy was doon the Arches in 91 off his heid on eckies?
Ziggy Posted - 08/06/2022 : 07:07:48
I've enjoyed Limmy tweeting about the Brixton 91 performance - specifically 'Tame'.

Ha brilliant, funny just saw the bluebells on tv when watching totp2 the other night!

Reds! Now that is a blast from the past. I used to work in the Hall next to O'Neills on Sauchiehall Street - that's where I served Limmy.

It was pretty mundane, was before he was on TV where he had his website. He was in with his mrs (I presumed) was a fairly busy Friday night. He asked for a gin and tonic and a pint. I said 'are you Limmy?' he said 'aye' and I commented that I liked his website and drinks were on the house. And that was it really!

Hoo hah!

Cool as tits. My flatmate Gillian got chatted up by one of Wet Wet Wet (no Marty) in Curlers in 1994. Used to work in Reds in Sauchiehall Hall where Bobbie Bluebell was a regular - and The Bluebells are playing a festival in my home town in about about 4 weeks lol - https://www.crawickmultiverse.co.uk/our-events/music-at-the-multiverse-2022/ - yes that's where I grew up.

Also once served Nigel Planar in a bar in Manchester without realising it!

Other than that my mates girlfriend walked past Billy Connoly one time on New Year's day in 1991 near Buchanan Street

No I jest I'd love to hear about your experience meeting Limmy etc if it's interesting, or just insteresting in the fact it was so mundane even?
Stevio10 Posted - 08/05/2022 : 21:55:33
Ah yeah I lived off Byres Road for a year or two. Worked in the pub Curlers in the mid 00s. Served both Limmy and the Chewin the Fat boys
pot Posted - 08/05/2022 : 14:35:02
I hear ye aye. Neds are fine as long as it's jist a sketch on Chewin the Fat or Limmy's Show. Actually no I jest, I'm not a neddist I used to be friends with some back in the early 90's - around the time the term "ned" was coined actually. My favourite ned is Lewis Capaldi (when he's getting awards not when he's singing).

Dunno what you mean by scream pubs - I used to work in a few pubs in Glasgow back in the early 90's but never head of that term. I was more your upper class/west end bartender.
Stevio10 Posted - 08/05/2022 : 14:12:29
Used to be, lived in Glasgow 01-06. In Dundee now but head down to Glasgow for the occasional gig. From the land of the Selkie Bride originally (Shetland) though don't get up there as much as I'd like these days.

Ha the Buckie boys! Neds...feeling of (bad) nostalgia! I used to work in those scream pubs (yellow card) back in the day, I don't notice as many Ned's on the street these days.
pot Posted - 08/05/2022 : 13:40:12
You in Glasgow then Stevio?

I remember they played there before and I was hoping to get along this time but alas I'm skinto these days.

There was neds fechting at the previous Kelvingrove gig? Did the Buckie Boys turn up?
Stevio10 Posted - 08/05/2022 : 12:47:58
I was going to go but didn't have the appetite after seeing them there and at barrowlands a few years ago. Kelvingrove bandstand is decent but around 3/4 way through gig there (head carrier era) was too many assholes fighting.
Sprite Posted - 08/05/2022 : 12:29:31
What's that venue like? I never heard of it before but it looks like a wet Red Rocks
pot Posted - 08/05/2022 : 09:03:48
Nobody hit the Glesga gig last night? I forgot it was on - weather looked nice for it.

Dublin was amazing. Longest i've seen them play. Just under 2 hours
