Anybody dressing up as someone from a Frank Black or Pixies song for Halloween? I was trying to think of something, but couldn't come up with any easy ones right away. Gyaneshwar? Billy Radcliffe? The chick from No. 13 Baby? The St. Francis Dam?

When do I get my first bee, damnit?

Happy Halloween. So many great FB-themed costume ideas since this thread started ... Catfish Kate ... Daniel Boone ...

i don't believe in brushing or flossing. do animals brush their teeth? no, they let fruits and nuts from nature cleanse their teeth. brushing is just one more thing the man wants you to do that you don't need to do.

at least that's what your mom said
Carolynanna Posted - 11/03/2006 : 07:56:46
Hmm, maybe you should just try it.
I think flossing deserves its own thread, heh.
I can't believe how many people don't do it!

What I have never understood about flossing, is surely the floss pushes food up towards the gum?

Its more important if your enamel is wearing thin.

Anyway, I went to the costume shop yesterday as everything was half price. Not much left though except this supercool voice changer that we (okay I) have been playing with since I bought it. I'm in alien mode right now, cripes I'm a big kid.

My teeth feel gross if I don't floss. It sucks at first but it's quite important to get the stuff that's between the teeth where the toothbrush can't get. Dentists over here say that if you have to pick between flossing and brushing (for a day, not forever), you're better off flossing. While I don't believe that, it's pretty darn important I think.

I don't know many people over here who don't floss regularly.

I dressed up like Koko Goldstein from Yacht Rock. My back up costume was Bubbles from the Trailer Park Boys

At the risk of getting a bunch of French-and-hygiene related jokes, I have to say flossing isn't common at all over here either. I do brush my teeth 3 times a day though, is there a point in flossing?

You know, when I was travelling with a bunch of Australians, a great number of them had no idea what floss was. I even taught a guy how to do it. So you English aren't alone at least. :)

Even I didn't pick up on that. I just thought you were English.

We had one knock, so we muted the tv as I tried to get the dog to stop barking. Ah... Halloween.

This is not news given my radical anti-dentite stance.

Yeah, I had six kids and gave them like 10-12 chocolate bars each. One of them proclaimed me "a hero". My work was done.

The neighborhood I took my kids to last night was PACKED with trick-or-treaters. I've never seen anything like it. It's a brand-new neighborhood, close to the older established neighborhood I live in, and nearly every house has elementary-aged children. So it was a goddamn zoo. It really worked out for me and the kids -- since nearly every house delivered the goods, we didn't have to put in a lot of time to score a lot of loot.

So all of you who say there are fewer kids, I think they came to where I was last night.

I could not find my honeycomb.

i went out in the scream ghost face costume... exactly the same as last year. i may have some photos come through soon... although, there isn't much point, i just look like the guy from scream innit.

Yeah, there used to be a ton of kids.
It seems that alot of parents take their kids to the shopping malls to trick or treat which I think is beyond completely lame.

Didn't seem to be many kids out this year here, either.I came back from getting shopping-including some goodies for the trick or treaters-just in time for a a bunch of little ghouls and ghosts. The number of kids going out each year seems to be decreasing, although there was probably the same amount as last year. When I was small, Halloween was a big deal, lots of kids went out every year.

Carolynanna Posted - 11/01/2006 : 08:46:39
So noone else dressed up???!!!
Let's see some pics.

We only had about 10 kids, I have so much leftover candy.
I'm freaking buzzing around here.
