I think if we did a favorite outro thread No. 13 Baby would win by a mile (feel free to disagree).

But what are some other outros of FBF songs that you are really into and feel like maybe go under the radar.

First one that comes to mind for me is Bad News. The contrast of "BAAAAAAAAD" with "News" just rocks in my opinion. Great ending to a great, great song.

Feel free to chime in if you have an outro you really get into.

Los Surfers Muertos, third best outro after 13 and Roswell

I thought straight away that it was reminiscent of No. 13 when I heard it.

Also, when I heard the end of 'Mrs Mark of Cain' I was like "Wait...that's similar to Motorway to Roswell".

Re My Life Is In Storage - I love the first half but every fibre in my body rejects that outro. To me it's just boring, pointless noodling and represents the antithesis of everything I love about FB/Pixies music.

Now that's out of the way I'd just like to agree with Parry The Wind & Cinema Star as great ones.

I love the outro to the album version of Grand Duchy's "Fort Wayne." For the most part, the song itself is the same as the original version. But they took the ending and smeared mud all over it -- I love how grungy It is.

Also, WIMM has a pretty nice outro.

Motorway outro gives No. 13 outro a run for its money

Those are all underappreciated outtros because the intros are also great?

Hey you know that Pixies song Debaser? Oh yeah, it that's one with the great outtro.

Doesn't happen.

The entire end of I've Seen Your Picture, the way the length of the line keeps getting shorter and shorter and keeps eating itself. I love that so much.

Blast Off. As good as the Stones' Can't You Hear Me Knocking IMO.

Surely there's no better way to end a song (and album) than with:

"Though he loved to rock and roll...

...aww, I better not"

Bedbug isn't far wrong in my case, No.13 Baby has long been a favourite, but I'd like to give attention to some that haven't been mentioned yet. They aren't all long ones, for example U-Mass is there because of just a few seconds of Joey doing some Joey guitar shit. But it ends the song so well.

21 Reasons - Epic
U-Mass - Frantic
I Will Run After You - Hypnotic
Dog Sleep - Atmospheric
Motorway to Roswell - Intergalactic

Thanks for sharing Coastline, didn't know that.

Really enjoy the Miriam and Florian outro, the last minute really sticks in my head.

Well, I have to say them in order of when I heard them because these to me are the absolute best, and I cannot pick a winner:

No 13 Baby!
All Over the World
The Happening
Alec Eiffel

Nobody makes songs like those anymore. Bossanova has the most and best I believe. Velouria's is really cool too.

My recollection on this one is that he smashed two separate songs together, the first being "My Life is in Storage" and the second being -- I think -- called "Funk." Regardless, that last couple minutes is so great. One of my favorite of all his songs.

The outro on My Life is in Storage is pretty cool. Maybe it's just that classic 2nd half of the song that is mellower than the first half kind of formula he does with some songs (eg Sad Punk, Los Angeles) but it seems subtler or just more intimate for want of a better word.

"Man of Steel," specifically on the remixed/remastered second release of the ODDBALLS CD, where the track is allowed to fade out for much longer than on its original X-FILES soundtrack appearance.

I had a bad reaction to your public hobby writings.

All the outros on Bossanova and Trompe le Monde are fantastic, The Happening in particular has my favorite lyrics that Frank ever wrote. I like the little "somebody got hurt!" ending on Break My Body, too.

Q: Where do Pixies keep their instruments when they're not playing?
A: Debasement.
Bedbug Posted - 02/28/2019 : 11:22:40
Yeah, I thought about saying that too. Except that his outros are some of his best stuff.

I love the outro in In The Time of My Ruin. I wish the whole song had been that.
pot Posted - 02/28/2019 : 10:35:37
I'd say more like the entire 2.0 catalogue
Bedbug Posted - 02/28/2019 : 10:07:28
Maybe Trompe Le Monde (the album) is one entire outro to the Pixies
pot Posted - 02/28/2019 : 09:22:56
Basically the second half of the song is one big outro
