edit: added lead tab + corrections

This song has a crazy time signature, with a slight variation on the 2nd verse.

I don't know anything about time signatures, so I just counted each strum and transcribed it the stupid way. If anyone knows how to tab this, please help.

Rythm part: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sf6M-pdYDUs
Lead part: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK8y3so2RZ8

RYTHM PART
(see below for lead part)

Intro 1 (same as chorus)

B F# G#m E
B F# G#m E

Intro 2 / Verses

Here's the stupid way to count for the intro/verse patterns

G#m (x6) -
G#m (x6) -
G#m (x6) -
G#m (x4) -
F#  (x4)           ====> x2, then: G#m (x4) D#m (x2)
G (x3) -
G#m (x4) -
B (x2) -
D# (x2) -

Chorus 1:

G#m F# B Bb
I am in love with your daughter
C#m D#m G#m F#
And though she has no need
B D#m G#m F#
I’m the one who’s got some trotters
C#m F# B
     You’ve many mouths to feed

Chorus 2

B F#
     Indie Cindy
G#m E
     Be in love with me
B F# G#m E
I beg for you to carry me

(what follows is pretty obvious, same patterns... you'll figure it out easily)

For the pre-solo part, the time signature is slightly different:

G#m (x6)
G#m (x6)
G#m (x6)
NOTHING (x2)
G#m (X2)
F# (x4)
G (x2)
G#m (x4)
B (x2)
D# (x2)

LEAD PART

e------------------------------------------------
B--------------------------0---------------------
G-----4---------------4----4---------------------
D--/6--------------/6----6-----------------------
A----------/6-4-----------------/6-6-6-4-4/6/4/2-
E------------------------------------------------

e-----------------
B-----------------
G-----------------
D-----------------
A------6-5--------
E--0h4-----7-6-7-- (repeat x3)

e------------------------------------
B------------------------------------
G------------------------------------
D--------------------5--------------
A------6-5-----2-1-4-----4---6-5----
E--0h4-----7-2---------3---4-----7-- B D#

e---------------
B---------------
G---------------
D---------------
A-----7-6-------
E-0h4-----7-6-5-

Here the lead part is the same as the rythm part BUT for some reason Joey plays a C# instead of a C#m on the last line.
Is it on purpose ? Dunno !???

G#m F# B Bb
I am in love with your daughter
C#m D#m G#m F#
And though she has no need
B D#m G#m F#
I’m the one who’s got some trotters
C F# B
     You’ve many mouths to feed

Then for the "Indie Cindy be in love with me..." vocals, play this with the volume pedal:

e-----14-------------14---------------------------
B--16----14-------16--------------16-14-16-14-----
G-----------------------16--------------------16--
D-------------------------------------------------
A-------------------------------------------------
E-------------------------------------------------

Same patterns for the rest of the song.

For the pre-solo part, the time signature is slightly different:

e-----------------
B-----------------
G-----------------
D-----------------
A------6-5--------
E--0h4-----7-6-7-- (repeat x2), then:

e------------------------------------------------
B------------------------------------------------
G------------------------------------------------
D------------------------------------5-----------
A------6-5---------------------2-1-4-------6-5---
E--0h4-----7-6-7-----6-7-----2---------3-4-----7- B D#

Hey, peers !

I just tabbed the lead/Joey part of Indie Cindy (I edit the first post, see the top of this page). I think it's pretty accurate. Sorry, no solo. I can't play it. I suck at solos.

That last note, the E string 4th fret is just before he sings "I'm in love with your daughter"...

What do you think?

"The arc of triumph"

Yes ofcourse, mistyped !

For the chorus Joey see.s to use an expression pedal. Haven't figured out yet what effect is used. Wonde if its just a volume pedal.

Yep and the part before the verse too :-) (just edited my previous post !). Just two notes higher. Makes all the difference.

Joey guitar parts are a blast to play. I just love them. (and looking forward to learn even more of them)

I think yours is more accurate! Just a couple of notes different between us.

Just guessing (didn't bother to write down the slides)

e--------------------
A--------------------
D--------------------
G--------------------
B-----6--5-----------
E--4--------7--6--7--

(repeat)

e-----------------------------------------------
A-----------------------------------------------
D-----------------------------------------------
G--------------------------5--------------------
B-----6--5--------2--1--4--------4-----6--5-----
E--4--------7--2--------------3-----4--------7--

B D#

And the part just before verse is to my ears:

e--------------------
A--------------------
D--------------------
G--------------------
B-----7--6-----------
E--4--------7--6--7--

And here's the rest of the intro. It's also the riff played through the verses.

 G#m G#m G#m G#m F# G G#m B D#

E---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------4444-8888-
D------------------------------------------------------------------------5----------------4444-8888-
A----6-5-------------6-5-------------6-5-------------6-5--------2-1-4------4-----6-5------2222-6666-
E-4-------7-6-7---4-------7-6-7---4-------7-6-7---4-------7--2------------3---4------7------------- All this x2 for verses

Second time round, as the verse leads into the chorus the last bit goes like this...

 G#m D# G#m F# B Bb
E-------------------
B-------------------
G-------------------
D-------------------
A----7-6------------
E-4------7-6-5-4---- "...I'm in love with your daughter..."

Feedback and corrections welcome!

Here's what I've come up with for the first part of the little lead intro bit. I'll try to get the verse down soon but it's pretty time consuming just to type this stuff! The spacing of the tab might not be 100% but should be simple enough to understand. Also, I've put some small slides in which I'm sure Joey uses, indicated by the /. Sounds close enough.

Ah, well carry on then! I may give in and just post stuff. It's probably better to have an 'unverified' tab online in the tabs section of the site than nothing at all.

One project that wouldn't rely on your allegedly legendary guitar techniques is to go through tabs posted in this forum but not in the tabs section and checking them out and sending me text files for the ones that seem good (or posting your suggested changes on that forum to see if you do, in fact, have any peers).

Never said I had any knowledge in guitar, music or or tabbing whatsoever... just trying to contribute at a very, very modest level... Sorry for the disturbance then ! Maybe you're right: no peer support, no need to update this section.

Totally fine with that.
Unfortunately, peer reviewing without peers is impossible.

Hey thanks, I really appreciate ! If you have any tabs or have found some little secrets in Pixies chords, please contribute.

Would be really cool to see the tab section active again. With accurate tabs. It's so frustrating to see simple riffs like the Pixies ones so poorly tabbed online. This website should be the definitive reference.

You're welcome ! ;-) Don't remember where I found Memphis chords. Probably here & by watching the Brixton 1991 video. I'm also looking for the Palace of the Brine chords (also a drop D i think)
