is it me, or has Dave changed his drumming style on this new re-incarnation?
I am not a drummer, but he's definitely holding the stick in his left hand differently.
Any drummer want to comment, give more info?
Does this make any difference or anything?

all i can say, thank god for polio! brian

Hi Charles
Could you please tell us more about your schedule from mid-October till November?
No touring it seems, so back to family? Or to studio perhaps?
Thanks for the fantastic shows so far
Keep on doing yoga :)

Yeah I wonder why he changed. I never really tried drumming like this (I suck enough with the standard grip, no need to worsen the situation).

Thanks for that vid Sprite, Dave is the man. Such a great down to earth guy. Spotted him on the street before one of the first reunion shows back in 2004, and he was just the coolest guy to talk to. Great to hear from him about his drumming history and his (overlooked) role in the Pixies. And I love his little foreshadowy comment at the end of the video about the Pixies in 2013, if we'd only known what was in store ;)

He's absolutely killing it live these days too. Love his drumming on the new stuff, Indie Cindy in particular has some awesome drumming its in it. The Paris Webcast showed a lot of great footage of Dave just killing it.

I first noticed on the last tour that he'd changed to traditional. Pretty impressive to me - as a drummer for the last 13 years I still can't get the feel for playing like that. It just doesn't work for me.

Have you ever seen this? Great video of David talking about his drumming. I can't remember if it's in this or somewhere else but I remember him saying he definitely changed his grip from matched to traditional.
