You can't watch the video on the Jimmy Fallon website outside the US.

I'm in Belgium, and I had no problem watching it.

Has anyone succeeded capturing the two videos from that website, preferrably in the highest quality they offer? I've tried, but it's not working at all.

thank you! that performance was amazing. the "cover your breath" bits seem unnatural, but the rest is subbacultcha meets gouge away meets so hard to make things out.

they were the heroes of old, men of renown.

Was great to hear Charles' trademark squeaking, pig-stuck-squealing Pixies guitar on a new song. That was the highlight for me.

So did anyone else "imdb" Joey?

Oh man, there is such a fundamental difference between calculated, compositional dissonance and a couple out of tune strings ringing through an intended major chord that it really doesn't warrant an explanation.

You are a man after my own heart Johnny. Nicely answered.

Have you ever tried tuning with the fibonacci numbers \ pre nazi tuning?

kinda kooky theory, but it definitely sounds ore pleasing to my ears. I would love to speak with someone who has perfect pitch to see. Maybe Paul MCartney posts on here occasionally.

I live in the UK and I could watch the Indie Cindy vid..

I agree the out of tune guitars spoiled it a bit but most of all it always sounds a bit empty to me live.. It definitely works better with Frank on electric guitar though.
billgoodman Posted - 09/17/2013 : 21:53:21
I've seen IC couple of times now and it gets more worse every time. I'm no expert but to me it seems that Frank really gets distracted by his own guitar.

You don't know what out of tune means until you've seen Guitar Wolf live.
Who cares, I like out of tune songs.

I really wish they would have limited the "cover your breath" stuff to a few times. It's too damned much, and sounds kinda lame live. The rest of the song works.

I was mildly disappointed that Kim didn't bring her growl-y voice with her on Bagboy, but she did a good job nonetheless. Actually, Indie Candy (heh) didn't sound so bad live, coming across a bit like a Teenager of the Year b-side.

Joey has been out of tune on so much live Pixies stuff...it's kinda endearing

Definitely out of tune on Indie - I couldn't watch it as I'm a bit of a Tuning Nazi. As for the smash, I'm pretty sure that was a total accident and he just Eric Clapton'd his SG ( see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6buUcD1qHQ ) and he couldn't save it, so he kind of played it off. He was just trying to turn it out and look cool - obviously wasn't using locking straps.

Love that they went with two new songs, and didn't play one of the oldies as the second song. Sticking by the new body of work. Great to see it.

Also great to see FB with such enthusiasm. I don't know why, but seeing him in that Bagboy performance just makes me grin.

Bagboy is not a perfect song as a single, it does drag a bit. But I love it anyway.

They have way more power and enthusiasm now, but these songs are very long and tend to drag a bit. The transitions between verses and choruses don't go that smooth.

Still, I like the energy

i'm really diggin' the new songs live. they have more energy/feel. luv the dynamics on indie cindy. and yes, kim shattuck is a great replacement/fit.

Hmm, can't say I was impressed by either performance. Sounds like they've still got work to do cleaning these up. Glad they got the chance regardless.

Perfect performance! Joey sure made his Les Paul sonically shine.Charles doing his old rocking moves,Dave super confident and unique drumming style and Kim bringing more beauty and energy to a beautiful performance.

"Bag Boy" rules here. The song is some very weird meat and seeing the band play it live helps with the digestion.

Frank seems so free, so happy. Great to see this.

Don't think Bagboy is an easy song to digest for a mass audience. Hell, sometimes the band seems the forget the song structure.

YES. They killed it. Love seeing Charles get into it again after years of motionless reunion gigs. And hearing a well mixed live version of this just makes me want well-recorded live versions of all the new songs. Hope we get those or at least that future EPs have a more live feel to their production.

Oh nice, Bagboy with Kim Muffs on vox...I will check that out. I don't much like Indie Cindy tho.
