This is post number six-sixty-six for me, so I thought I'd put it here on the thread for the show where I saw him play it live. Great show. Great song. Great Frank. (and great EDF).

Nice version but shame about the galoot roaring along to the song.

Can't find any vids of it from this tour, but here's 'Sing for Joy' from an LA show in 2010. Fantastic version. Would listen to it over the studio version any day!

One cool little tid bit from the show i forgot to post: After the first verse of "Sing for Joy" FB said "that's my cousin." He has said for a long time that the song was about his family, but this is the first i've heard a concrete story for who is it about.

About 2/3 of the way through, Frank started in with Bullet. EDF half-stood from behind the piano and gave him this crazy look, the meaning of which was plain. Frank said, "Oh, did we already play that? Well, I do really like that song."

Could I stay just for awhile?

Those comments got pretty tedious fast.

Excellent performance of The Swimmer which is one of my favourites. He was doing a neat feedback thing with the guitar during Burnt Out Rock & Roll, reminded me of something but I'm not quite sure what, maybe some Neil Young song.

The setlist on that site was from the St. Louis show (i guess they don't have Brian-like skills of writing down a set at a show), so they didn't play it in NYC, but they did play it in St. Louis.

It's been played a few times. Doesn't really sound like the original.

People get pretty worked up about Israel.

Oh, what I wouldn't give to see EDF accompany FB on piano on I'll Be Blue.

Did you tape the show, Brian?

Tried to, but venue issues prevented it. Kicking myself for it too. I almost just put my mic on my table, but it would've been hard to hear EDF on the tape. There are a few videos here:

Holy smokes! I am stunned by how incredible the show at Le Poisson Rouge was. First off, it is one of the best rock venues in NYC. 2nd, 3rd, 4th.... Frank was awesome, the best show (and 4th) I've ever seen him.
