Point of order, Mr. Chairman. Shouldn't we consider renaming this thread "BFB Solo Shows" or otherwise removing the notion of time from its title, since it appears to have become a catchall solo gig discussion?

Not a big deal, granted, just a minor housekeeping suggestion. Many thanks.

Not so far, sorry. Mostly eastern and southwest US. I'm not trying to tease, we just can't release it for a little bit yet.

Even to see him playing Calistan again would be an honor! Eighty- five weeks and Some Things would be so fun. Will this be appearing on the trader's/collector's rounds anytime soon? Very nice setlist, thanks for keeping track(s)!

note: I didn't place eighty five weeks right away and when I got back to my car I listened to quite a few songs so I can't be 100% it was eighty five weeks but I'm pretty sure. He said because it was a "library" it would be fitting to play the songs alphabetically. They also ended up skipping a song between Nimrod's and Planet of Sound. That would have made it 25; a buck a song. I was gonna say something but refrained, haha. Anyways, great venue. Will definitely return one day; maybe sooner than later, arcade fire anyone??? 85 weeks!! - one of my faves
Ramoma! - its been so long
Some things- love it

I love those performances I've seen, but it'd be nice to see some other songs appear now and then. Out of the whole 'Honeycomb/FM/RM' period it's 'Sing for Joy' all the time. Golem songs never get a look in. Or NSE ('Dead Man's Curve' excepted).

Interesting, thanks for reporting the setlist! I wish he could come back to France soon...
shineoftheever Posted - 08/17/2010 : 21:42:26
Actually, the skipped song might have been after planet, cause I remember hoping for punk rock city.

Would love to be going to so some of the edf shows, any of them for that matter but especially the edf ones.
I googled the beachcomber in wellfleet and that looks quite the venue. What a setting for a Black Francis show. Maybe i'll make the next one. :(

Perhaps, but they are friends of mine and fans of Charles, as well, who are excited to play the same day he does at the store. They are a completely different genre of music from Charles, but what they do, they do very well. I will be at CD World for sure!

re: Santa Barbara article

I just thought I'd mention the writer (very nice chap) did not get my quote correct about life on other planets. I was quoting a common notion about LIFE existing and that we are with big ego to think otherwise, but my point was, in fact, the opposite, that is to say, that we should FEEL SPECIAL if THERE IS NO OTHER LIFE because that puts the overwhelming size of the universe into perspective. Just another notion gleaned from a book.
