Unfortnately I gotta stop there for now; how freakin' prolific can an artist be? Black has got to be coming close to Bob in output; has anyone done the math?

If this is all I am skipping I must be listening to way too much Frank Black.

Baffles me that a person could skip Don't Ya Rile Em..., and i don't understand the hate cult of Ray gets, (aside from "Punk Rock City") it's excellent I tend to skip Sir Rockaby and The Vanishing Spies the most though
waymu Posted - 02/17/2014 : 07:58:36
I've never really been able to get into Pixies, I heard Black's solo stuff first... Maybe that's it.

I'm weird about certain things and I def wish I could change one thing in particular.....cuz it hinders my conversations with friends and on music forums. I NEVER KNOW THE TITLES (in most cases, not all) of individual songs. Weird, huh? I mean I know entire albums, every word every musical note, what NUMBER the song is in the cd, but not the freakin title!

It's just a crazy quirk. The only time I check out a sleeve is literally to see who's playing what. I'm always so excited to put a new album/cd on, that I listen & dont wanna read anything. ha ha. Like with (perhaps) my fave album of all time by anybody ("TOTY"...ahh....just writing TOTY is ecstacy). I'll tell somebody, like, " I love that song so much" "Which one, Simi?" "Juxtaposed"
"What?!" "You know that song that has has that cool word in it, 'juxtaposed', and the music then changes?" Help!!! ha ha

BTW, I've changed my ways. I now, too, want a new Pixies album. Fuck Kim! Just playing hoo hoo

I'm a liitle surprised to also see Kicked In The Taco and Cult Of Ray's title track on johnny's list but I'm not joining the posse. No sense in driving him to a Butch/Sundance type of last stand. I mean I routinely skip Headache and Speedy Marie.

Usually skip When I Go Down on You and much more often Nonstoperotik. Lyrics being my problem with both.

No doubt about it, the single fb track I have skipped the most is the acapella version of Six Sixty Six from Christmass. I just can't listen to that.

I'm sure there would be tracks on FM/RM or Bluefinger that I would skip if I ever listened to them.
Idalgo Clandestino Posted - 08/12/2010 : 22:09:46
I'm so sad to say:

i skip Nonstoperotik everytime. The whole record, i mean... .

Never thought, i'd have to say such a thing.

you probably thought i'm a shy guy
DrWorm Posted - 08/12/2010 : 08:28:39
I love Honeycomb, in it's entirety. I rarely listen to FM/RM, San Antonio and a few other good ones, but not enough to dig out the CD.

Sunny Mil Valley is one of my favorite tracks! Great to strum along with..

"Mister, would you please help my pony? / I think it's his lung"
darwin Posted - 04/09/2010 : 07:05:09
Oh, I've all kinds of terrible songs in my head (that I sing). Wake Me Up Before You Go by Wham being an example. Or various Madonna songs. That doesn't mean they're good.

But, Manitoba is good. But, otherwise I agreed with your list.
realmeanmotorscutor Posted - 04/09/2010 : 05:13:32
Just listened. Yeah, it's alright. Less abrasive, maybe? Still not one of my favorite Frank songs. Oddly enough, though, it's one that I constantly sing around the house.

realmeanmotorscutor Posted - 04/08/2010 : 15:42:28
This is what I love about FB; no one ever agrees on a stinker and more often than not the ones we hate become favorites years later. Allow me to enrage most of you:

Orange: Adda Lee (sometimes)
TOTY: The Hostess with the Mostest (often)
Cult of Ray: I Don't Want to Hurt You (always)
Oddballs: Baby That's Art (usually)
FB&tC's: none!
Pistolero: none!
DitS: none none none
BLD: Black Rider II (nearly always)
DW: The Scene (often)
SMYT: Jaina Blues (nearly always), Massif Centrale (sometimes), Manitoba (sometimes)
OMRFTH: none
SO: Belle Isle (sometimes)
FBF Disc One: nothing!
FBF Disc Two: everything. In fact, I may have never finished listeing to this one
Honeycomb: none really, though the idea of Violet tempts me sometimes :)
FMRM: I skip around a lot, but these (controversial) tracks stick out as constant skippers: Fitzgerald, Elijah, The Real El Rey, Holland Town
Christmass: Radio Lizards (always. it refuses to grow on me), is 666 the slow one? If so, always always that.
Bluefinger: She Took all the Money (Shamalama-skip track. always)
SVN FNGRS: The Tale of Lonesome Fetter (only sometimes and then only to get to track 7)

FB: Fu Manchu (rarely)
TOTY: Fazer Eyes (often), I Could Stay Here Forever (rarely)
COR: Punk Rock City (rarely), Dance War (often)
Ob: You Never Heard About Me (often)
FB&TC: King & Queen Of Siam (often), 666 (rarely, and I love other versions, especially KB)
P: I Switched You (rarely), Tiny Heart (often)
DITS: Llano Del Rio (maybe once or twice, ages ago)
BLD: How You Went So far (rarely, and due to sequencing), True Blue (rarely), Black Rider II (often)
DW: Are You Headed My Way (almost always)
SMYT: Jaina Blues (often)
OMRFTH: Constant Sorrow Man (often)
SO: Take What You Want (often), Snake Oil (rarely), Sleep (often)
HC: Violet (rarely)
FMRM: Golden Shore (rarely), Down To You (often), Highway To Lowdown (often) - BUT CD1 7-11 has horrible sequencing: mostly great but too similar
BF: Lolita (often, but girlfriend Pistolaura keeps playing it), She Took All The Money (often)
7F: I Sent Away (rarely)

...but if someone would have made me a mix tape consisting of the above, I would've gone on to buy all the records anyway.

Punk Rock City, King & Queen Of Siam, 666, True Blue, Black Rider, Lolita, She Took All The Money, I Sent Away are all great, especially the ones in green are effing amazing. imho. :)
