Posted - 03/06/2007 : 23:25:30 I'm going to London and Paris in a couple weeks. Any good shows coming up? Any places I shouldn't miss?
Been to London a few times, but not in years. Only spent a couple hours in Paris.
Thanks!

Le Plomb du Cantal was excellent! Thanks Remig!
Went there on Saturday for lunch. The place was full and so were we when we left. Aligot is delicious.
The fois gras at Petit Sud Ouest was awesome, too. Also had an incredible dinner at a small restaurant in Montparnasse called L'Assiette on rue du Château.
Had a great trip. Love Paris... beautiful city. And my French wasn't as bad as I thought, despite the years that have passed since I studied.
For all you London FB.netters... your city was great, too. For a fantastic dinner in London go to Rosemary Lane on Royal Mint (near Tower Hill tube station). I TRIPLE recommend it.
Royal China on Queensway was outstanding, too.

Posted - 03/08/2007 : 01:21:03 Wow, I'm getting really excited for this trip. I think maybe I'll try to go to la Cigale to see Piers Faccini. Aligot sounds great, too. Thanks again for the tips.
On a side note, I made some reservations to see Colin Hay (from Men at Work) here in Los Angeles at Cafe Largo in April. That should be a fun time, too. The last show I went to was Michael Franti & Spearhead at the Wiltern in L.A. and that was a fantastic show.

Posted - 03/08/2007 : 01:07:27 I heard that Pravda is a good french rock band, plus the girl in the band is cute. Not far from le sacré Coeur Piers Faccini is in the same district, and la Cigale is a wonderful place. I've seen him once, If you like Ben Harper, Jack Jonhson and Honeycomb. Katerine is great to see live, the show is crazy but it's better to understand french, because he doesn't sing that well. The venue is too big.

Thanks so much for looking that up for me. Maybe I'll just wander into something cool. Sometimes I luck out.

Posted - 03/08/2007 : 00:42:56 They're ain't no big shows left to see, everything is sold out. The only place you can go is La Flèche d'Or wich is an ancient train station turned into a restaurant and a club.
Places you shouldn't miss are Paris classics: Musée du Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Sacré Coeur, Notre Dame de Paris, Musée D'Orsay, and a tour on boats (we call it fly-boats, "bateaux mouches").
Where do you stay? If you're on the right bank, I can give you some good name of restaurants without any tourist.
