It pleases me that he finally has the recognition that he so deserves.

'Keane frontman battles drink and drug problems
Tom Chaplin explains why band cancelled shows
Keane have revealed frontman Tom Chaplin is being treated for drink and drug problems.

The news comes shortly after the band cancelled shows in Edinburgh, Dublin and Ibiza, saying at the time that the singer was suffering from "exhaustion".

However, they were still performed at the V Festival over the weekend (August 19/20).

Now a planned US tour in September has also been cancelled.

In a statement on the band's website keanemusic.com, Chaplin revealed: "I've been having to deal with an increasing problem with drink and drugs, and the time has come to get the professional help I need to sort myself out.

"I feel desperately disappointed to be letting down our fans, but I want to get myself right now so that I can be back on the road for the rest of the year."

Refunds for all the cancelled concerts should be sought at the point of purchase.

The band are due to go on a UK tour in the autumn.'

Anyone else slightly suspicious of this? Reeks of publicity stunt to me. They are constantly slagged off for being boring in every way, suddenly they have drug tales.

Give it a year for the stories about the drummer's whore addiction come out.

hahahahahahaha I was about to post that here!

Funny thing is they've got a new single out. The cynic in me suspects the two may be linked.

Nah, he's pretty bad, but very popular for some reason. He's got an annoying voice. The lyrics are catchy I will admit. It's his voice I don't like.

I've never met an annoying ex-smoker. I've found they're pretty easygoing people. ( People who are ex-drinkers are another story, though. )

I realized too, why smokers are an easy target for new laws and taxes:
Because they would never protest. Smokers ( of all ages ) behave like adults, and for adults there's no dignity in walking around carrying signs.
Protesting, , in and of itself, is just childish- no matter what their cause is, they always look to me like teenagers trying to change their parents' minds about some rule.

I was surprised Chavs didn't make the list. Maybe they would make it onto the 'Ten things which deserve to be ethnically cleansed and are ruining the UK' list.

It's ironic that this study has been conducted by Lactofree as they have irritated me immensely recently. They replaced Lactolite with Lactofree, and my son won't drink Lactofree.

Because ex-smokers and non-smokers alike are the most smug self satisfied bunch of 'tards. Next non/ex smoker that decides to tell me what I'm doing to my health I'm going to punch in the face.
