Check this out....

I always wished someone would write a bio of the band. Hope this comes to fruition some time soon.

Well the article (or the pitchfork one) mentions lots of new interviews
that could be interesting
besides, I don't doubt Josh Frank ambition to make such a book
he spend months (and I guess lots of money) on a musical based on Frank Black
and that was also months before the reunion
so obviously he is a fan and wants to promote him with some of his own talents
(musical- and bookwriter)
I don't think this is really a cash in

I suppose that in the age of information that we all live in, the autobiography is sort of a waste of time - everyone already knows everything they want to know about a celebrity/band/author as it's happening to them. I think between the four members of the band, they could come up with really descriptive discourse over what they did and didn't do in the late eighties and early nineties, but it still wouldn't be anywhere near as good as seeing them live or playing one of their albums. I only buy overpriced rock star books if they have pictures I just can't resist anyway.

It's pretty clear to me that it's Josh Frank who's working on the book. That's because everywhere else, FB is referred to as "Black" in boldface, but here, the author is referred to as "Frank" in plain text.

Also, by the description, this sounds like a quickie cash-in bio to piggyback on the reunion hoopla, based quite heavily on transcriptions of the interview segments from the Gouge documentary.

I believe somebody else is working on a pixies book
maybe Josh Frank
if you read this article
you can read it as Frank is working
as in FB or as in Josh Frank
which makes more sence
because it follows after the Josh Frank Musical paragraph

"I joined the Cult of Frank/Nobody wanted to join my Culf"
