"Man of Constant Sorrow" is a very old song, that has been covered by countless folk musicians over the years. Dylan did a great rendition on his self-titled debut. Frank's version, though lyrically similar, and even musically similar in parts is his own song. Sure, it owes a debt to the folk song, but it's essentially an original composition. Blows the Soggy Bottom Boys out of the water! :)

I think it's similar to, if it's not, a Bob Dylan song off one of his early albums.

The introduction is played similar to 'Bullet's' C#m intro, but with B minor. *
Like what velvety posted, but with a few changes.

--2--0----------3---5----
--------2--0--2---3---5--
  Bm C D

verse 1
Bm E A F# G D F#
Bm E A F# D G

back to intro riff (verse 2) (ends on Cm)

You're friends say...
G Dm Am Em G Dm Am Em G

back to intro riff (can just strum Bm/C/D)

You're ma says..
G Dm Am Em G Dm Am Em G (repeat)

back to intro riff

back to verse 1

end song with intro and some.

(*edit. What I mean is, keep hold of the B minor chord shape, and take your index finger off to play the individual notes)

i think.

Anybody ever find a complete tab for this?

yah, this is an old old song which became most famous through Oh Brother. I dont know if Ive heard the FB version, but I assume its the same as the old one...

If you google it, there is a great tab for this song, that I actually just learned yesterday (learned it on guitar to teach to a friend and am then learning the banjo over it). Hope your pretty good at robert johnson style funky acoustic blues (the guitar slinging character in O Brother who played it was named Tommy Johnson and was picked up at the crossroads!)

Isn't man of constant sorrow from (not originally) Oh Brother Where art Thou?

I think it's Frank's take of an old (traditional) song.

Im pretty sure it is a Frank Black origional, I seem th remember he has the writers credits on the St Franicis Dam Disaster single... this song should really be on the "proper" tablatures page cus I recon its one of his best tracks.

One of my favourite FB songs. Even if it's not really his. I think?

Intro
A 2 0 3 3 5 3 (Repeat 2x)
E 2 0 2 2 3 3

Intro chords
Bm A Bm E Bm C D

Verse
Bm E A F# G D F#
Bm E A F# D G
(Intro Chords) (Repeat until..)

C D Cm
Cause rambling is the ramblers' fate

Chorus
G Dm Am C
G Dm C Am
Em-D-G
(Intro chords)

The chorus is most likely wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Just end it all, it's the only way to be sure.
