Posted - 09/21/2004 : 01:16:17 I don't know if it has already been discussed here, but I've just discovered Elliot Smith posthumous album.
I'm stuned.
My best friend never stopped for years telling me I must listen Elliot Smith but I never did. Few weeks ago I found it on soulseek for him (not in store yet).
That's pure beauty, really. Shivering.
Highlights: Coast to Coast, Pretty (ugly before), A Fond Farewell, King's Crossing, A Passing Feeling, A Distorted Reality...
I'm ashamed not being a fan for years now he's dead.
Too bad.

Posted - 09/22/2004 : 04:57:40 I love Elliot Smith so much, the man was an unqualified genius. Definitely get XO, and I'd also recommend either/or as well.
Do you know the release date and label of the new album?

Posted - 09/22/2004 : 03:12:40 Ok, I heard some songs from the forchcoming basement.... and I dig it
memory lane is probably the best song ever written
he could have easily been in the beatles or some other phenomenal sixties band. He would have made Please Please Me less sucky!

I can't wait for the new album to come out. I can'y believe Elliott has been dead nearly a year, such a waste. |

Posted - 09/21/2004 : 01:41:55 I'm not that ashamed, I only needed to listen it twice.
I took me less time to like it than it took my friends to like Frank Black & the Pixies. I had to tie them to a chair and put TOTY, Doolittle, Trompe and still nothing. And when FB & C's self titled came out they liked it.

Posted - 09/21/2004 : 01:27:11 Well, things like that always happen! How I wish I was born to see the years 1969 or 1977...
Concerning Elliot, I can only recommend you the other albums, especially figure 8, my favourite one, but they're all good.
