Congrats to Britney Spears on her second marriage this year. Check out the groomsmen -

Nothing says CLASSY like all your husbands friends wearing jackets that say PIMPS. I believe the groom wore one which said "The Pimp". That's nice.

Should we start taking bets on how long this union will last? Or is that too mean? Not mean enough?

Discuss.

Yes! I would read everything even if I knew it was someting I would never watch. His critical ones were the funniest. He still does it, right?

I can't see the pic in the first post. And how can we have a Spears topic without some pics of her??

Well, I worked at Target up until very recently. And I actually worked for Kodak, not Target. I was in the One Hour Photo department, an endless stream of wedding, baby, and vacation pictures. Rarely do we get party pictures since we are rather far from campus. It was a fun job much of the time, there was a lot to learn and a lot to do, I was usually busy enough for the time to go by swiftly. My main problem with it was that I was dealing with customers and making a product, and was often the only person doing both jobs at once so it was hectic when three or four people were approaching the photo booth at once and each person was there for a different reason: one to drop off film, one to use the scanner/picture maker, one to pick up pictures, and one to have bitch about the fact that we should not call the service One Hour since it is not always running One Hour, and they would say it with true wit on their tongue, as if they are the first to point this out.

Oops, I did it again. I hijacked a thread.

I probably meant US Weekly... or Enteraintment Tonight... and just combined the two when I wrote it. I cannot keep those rags straight. I am pretty sure that all three are regular reading material in the Target break room.

Entertainment Weekly is the New York Times compared to US Weekly and Entertainment Tonight.

Yeah, I cannot help but flip through the Entertainment Weekly when it is sitting on a table in the breakroom. I do not know if the most recent pics I have seen of Britney with a dude are the man she just married, but yeah, I remember him looking kind of scuzzy. What is it with the trailer park look suddenly being in? Even Justin Timberlake seems to going for that. Maybe it is supposed to be a tough guy look. I dunno.

Wait! She does a cover of the Bobby Brown song "My Prerogative"?
To quote Whitney aka Mrs. Bobby Brown, "Crack is whack."

ramona Posted - 09/22/2004 : 11:27:21
The songs are okay (I don't like them but don't hate them either) but I don't understand why she is really even famous. She can't sing and you can't even HEAR her voice through all the synthesiezed CRAP on her songs. Have you heard her version of MY PREROGATIVE? Esh.

Anyways, I am awaiting a wedding photo other than the one above. I wonder if it will come before news of the divorce.

Extremely well put, Kathryn.

Tar Tar, I take your projection on to a new level. For her 3rd marrage Brittany will marry Michael Jackson. Then they will have childern and have a show similar to the Partridge Family.

you said:

I feel kind of bad for her

i was saying that was stupid because she sought out fame. that's like feeling bad for a guy who goes to an all you can eat buffet and gorges himself because he gained twenty pounds.

where exactly did i twist your words?

Well, I never said I thought it bothered her especially - I just think it would be hard to grow up with all this attention focused on you. I don't think that is very "normal" and being a teenager/growing up is hard even WITHOUT all that additional hoop-lah. That is all I meant.

i don't care how you phrase it i'm not going to feel sorry for a millionaire.

Gah. I give up. I didn't say you should feel sorry for her! Good lord, Ebb. No matter what I say you will make it into something else, so I'm sorry for trying to explain what I meant.

PS. Nope, not getting married! When I do, we will all dress as pimps!

TarTar Posted - 09/20/2004 : 14:00:20
I was just thinking about this earlier today. I was thinking specifically of that clip of Britney in Fahrenheit 9/11 where she's chewing gum and talking about doing what the president says because he's the president. I was wondering if she's ever had to have an opinion on anything, not just politically but something like, say, the taste of food or how a pair of shoes feels. Well, she's probably had an opinion on shoes. We'll give her that. I have to wonder if she's going to end up suffering the same fate as Michael Jackson, who was also raised in a bubble of fame and never had a chance to experience things on a normal, sane level. Of course, Michael started much earlier on in life, so maybe Britney will end up only being as weird as... hmmmm, how about having sex with male animals.

but what does the judgement of random strangers mean compared to the judgement of people you care about?

like i said it's up to the indvidual how much they let it bother them.

Seems to me that there's an awful lot of adult children out there,
or at least on TV...
