Posted - 09/18/2004 : 13:19:57 I like this Old 97's a lot, never heard of them before... to be continued...
Howie Day is pretty good, although it reminds me of Dave Mathews, John what's his name, and the guy from 90210 who dated Tori Spelling on the show, hehe
the Pierces 2 sisters, sounds like Allison Krauss (sp?) and Jewel.. I can't believe they're showing this delayed taping from Friday instead of Modest MOOse, that fucking is retarded... Pierces.com is their site apprently, but I looked for it and got some BBQ shop, I dunno... this is boring... tape delayed from Friday over live Modest MOOse, travesty...
Is anyone else watching? Jesus...

Didn't Radish perform on the Weird Al Show? That was the only context in which I've ever heard of them.

Posted - 09/19/2004 : 14:40:59 Kweller is def. worth checking out
i actually met Kweller a few times, once at a Pierces show where he was checking out the band with his (then) girlfriend (now wife) Lizzy and Albert Hammond Jr of the Strokes, who is dating one of the Pierces. Interesting how it all connects

Posted - 09/19/2004 : 11:28:13 Pixies were awesome.
Racheal Yagamata They're okay, but it reminds me of Eddie Brickell or wannbe Janis Joplin. But I do admit I have a thing for Asian Women.
Shelby Lynne A country Sheryl Crow, sounds like elevator music to me, the guitar solos are okay...
Ben Kweller I never heard of him but This guy is cool, he's a freak, I like it a lot, never heard of him, he's funny and sounds stoned... he was really fun to watch, awesome energy and cool that he played guitar electric and acoustic, piano and harmonica... cool lyrics, very fun to watch...
Jack Johnson instead of Elvis Costello, that sucks, I've never heard of him, he had better be good because I'm missing Elvis. Okay, it's decent, but it's not Elvis.
Drive-By Truckers Been waiting all day for this, awesome it was, for the 15 fucking minutes before they had to switch to Spoon. Bastards. They cut out right at the begining of Decoration Day, I am so fucking pissed. Oh well, a little is better than nothing, but it justreaffirms how I think the scheduling was fucked, oh well.
Spoon They're okay, kinda cool, not as cool as the Drive By Truckers, but oh well. They soound like Spoon, what else should I say?

Hey LBF, nice to see someone else likes them. I have one of their cds, if you wanna email me I can hook you up with some tunes. I know I mentioned them here before at some point. Maybe I'll put one of their songs on my comp cd...hmmm
I wish they would do a stream of Calexico. I love them so much.
I have two of their albums and have mentioned them on here previously (a couple of times). Nobody ever responded.

Posted - 09/18/2004 : 22:49:20 Yeah, I agree, it is significantly less of a hassle to get a good view of a favorite band being at a music festival than it is to have one the internet in the comfort of your own home. I need to stop listening to it over and over again, it is taking me over. Just Kidding, Kinda.

Posted - 09/18/2004 : 22:29:32 Green's my fave color too... anyway... I hate packing so I saw this thread and had to post.
Yesterday Franz Ferdanand put on a great show. Before that I really dug Broken Social Scene. Has anyone ever heard of them? I also caught Toots & the Maytals and the brought Rachael Yamagata on to sing the second song. Definately the Pixies take the cake-- no pun intended.
I've always wanted to go to this music fest, so it is so cool checking it out via the web and for free :)

Dashboard Cofessionals pretty much suck, I can't believe I am thinking, "I can't wait for the Neville Brothers." I never thought that thought would ever cross my mind. I thought they were like country or something, but they're a funk band, they are good, really cool. It seems from all the screams of teenage grils, that's their primary audience. Wow. I'd like to know who give them the middle finger at the begining of the show which dude said, "There's the girl with the middle finger up at the begining of the show, I always love her." or something like that, she wins a golden kitty for that one. OH, and do you like how I utilized the "shi-brown" font for their band name?
Wow, he just did a shout-out, "How about that Modest Mouse!" he exclaimed. What a fucker. He makes them look like Mozart, Bach, Beehtoven, Brahms and Bizet formed a rock band... haha
Wow, he just said they were done and "The Pixies are up next, I am excited." I bet you are dumbass, they play reall music, not sell-out the 8-21 year girl category, you lucky peice of shit, your music sucks, love Andy.
the Neville Brothers they're pretty cool, I never really jammed out to them before... I like the keyboards and the funk sound... the drummer is pretty friggin good... good band, nice funk, I had no idea they were funk, funnk is cool... like someone I know who posted below _________________________ I Love You Venus Annabelle LuxAry, Where-ever You Are.
