Posted - 09/15/2004 : 17:14:17 If you were given $100,000k to take a trip, what would you do and what 5 people would you take with you? There is a limit on 4 destinations and one month's time. You can spend the money on anything you want! |

Posted - 09/20/2004 : 07:08:19 I just watched a show that claimed that the most beautiful place on earth is;
The DMZ between North and South Korea.
I think I'll go there.

Posted - 09/17/2004 : 22:40:24 I would go to baltimore MD, on the 27th of November for the 3rd annual pranksgiving weekend at fletchers, I am a selfish bastard and would take no one else as they would interfere with my enjoyment of seeing mary prankster by asking inane questions.

Posted - 09/17/2004 : 05:41:27 My dream Vatican would have the Pope coming out of his window to conduct prayers whenever he felt like it....that would keep the fans on their toes....he'd come out, and then not come out again for weeks, and then five minutes later. Also, I would allow the guards to carry AK-47s at all times and shoot into the air randomly....this would also keep the Pope-Fans on their toes. The point is for people to go back home feeling that the Vatican was exciting. |

Posted - 09/17/2004 : 03:04:04 very tricky.
I'd spend a week on the west coast of Ireland driving and camping. We'd live entirely on the phenomenal seafood and Bulmers Cider.
Another week, i'd go to Scandanavia to look at the lovely girls, and scenery.
3rd week i'd spend in the wilderness in Canada - not sure where exactly cause i don't know much about it, but definitely somewhere there.
Last week - think i'd spend a week tramping in the mountains in New Zealand - yes, thats where i'm from, but man i miss it so much that i'd go there in a second....
don't think i'd like to take 5 people actually...maybe 2 others...

Posted - 09/16/2004 : 14:53:14 I would take my family (wife and 2 kids) and in this fantasy land the kids would love the plane flights and not act bored.
1) The Amazon - there's got to be a piece of the Amazon that is still relatively intact, 2 weeks of slowly walking through the forests
2) Beaches of southern Thailand - more slow walks, sitting on the beach, and eating. We spent our honeymoon in central Thailand and nothing ever tasted better than Thai food on a hot day with Carlsburg on tap.
3) On a private sailboat (in the carribean or even in the Sea of Cortez) sailing from beach to beach and spending the evenings around a campfire on the beach.
4) London - To balance it out with some time in civilization, I pick London as the city I would most want to spend a couple of weeks exploring. |

Posted - 09/16/2004 : 11:52:01 Vegas is the absolute last place I would go. Funny. To each their own!
I would rent a big beautiful house in Capri (Italy) and invite my friends and family to go and go as they please. With that much money, I could fly them all over.

Posted - 09/16/2004 : 11:33:35 1. Coata Rica-- relaxing on the beach and seeing rainforests 2. Cuba-- I want to see it before it becomes too commercialized 3. Tibet-- it would be cool to see all the monestaries and mountains 4. Fiji-- I have always wanted to stay in those huts and the water looks beautiful
I would take my husband and my friends Julie, Andrew, Erin and Stan :) We would stay at each place for a week-- but if the weather was bad, we would move on to the next spot :)

Posted - 09/16/2004 : 10:51:09 i would go:
Tokyo - i'd need the most energy for this part of the trip, so i'd take it first Hawaii - relax on the beach for a week Rio De Janero - Carnivale! lots of bossanova and tropicalia Rome/Venice - finish out the trip in my motherland with some great food and some antiquity
I'd bring my girlfriend, my brother, my friends Ed and Ken, and another female to be named later

Posted - 09/16/2004 : 10:32:32 Yeah, Vegas is a good call with all that money to blow or potentially double. Each person gets $14k to gamble/see shows/etc. The other three destinations, each person gets $2k (this includes their accomodations, etc). I'd spend a week in each place and work my way around the globe.
So, without further ado:
Week 1: Vegas (a chance to win more money for the rest of the trip) Week 2: Fiji (recuperate on a beach, waited on hand & foot). Occasional parties of 'epical' proportions. Week 3: Switzerland (camping, hiking, biking, skiing, gliding, climbing, a new adventure everyday and an expensive hotel to rejuvenate at). Week 4: Cancun (after a week of extensive physical exhaustion coupled with only the finest in spa-related finery, it's time to get tropical and fun, partying it up in Mexico's best compromise between luxury and partying)
EDIT - Oh yeah, I need 5 people. I don't have many close friends, and the ones I do have (aside from one) are not really beach/fun/adventure types, except one, so I have four openings. :) Anyone want in?
