What about cow chip throwing?...

The town of Beaver should be proud of its undisputed title: Cow Chip Throwing Capital of the World. It is here that the World Championship Cow Chip Throw is held each April.
King Cow ChipTM, a leering cartoon of a dried bovine fecal wad wearing a tilted crown, is the town's registered trademark. This "Dried-in-the-Sun King" has brought notoriety — and prosperity — to Beaver. But, as with any long, unchallenged reign, the populace has become inured to their own charm. King Cow Chip's royal entourage keeps the claim alive, cranking out commemorative gift boxes of cow chips, entertaining foreign dignitaries, and dragging the beaver trailer around town for parades.
Randy Campbell, the mayor of Beaver, is obligated to greet us with open arms, not to mention some gift-boxed cow chips. He assures us he has only tossed a chip once before, yet his mean curve pitch at our Sony Handicam betrays a suspiciously-practiced skill. He tosses underhand, a Frisbee-flick, bounding off the bumper of a car on the opposite side of the wide, paved main street.
"I think that's my mother-in-law's car," he said. |

Thanks Jen! Seriously, I love places like that. I mean, not only magnetic hills but, how can I say, those rural, bizarre, almost secret attractions. Oklahoma is full of things like that - dinosaur tracks, outlaw hideouts, Indian petroglyphs, haunted caves... I love that. I love Oklahoma. Even more than Kentucky. Uh, maybe ;) |

Oh, they're all optical illusions, as far as I can tell. But try convincing drunk and overly excited teenagers of that! Not that I would know anything about it... |

Are they certain you're actually going back up hill?
There is a spot on my train run where you would bet money you are going down hill, but I have to keep it in run three or I start dropping speed because it's uphill.

there is something similar in athens (greece). if you stop the car in this mountain street it will go up the mountain for 500-600mts instead of going down as normal gravity laws want.

Hahaha! There's one near Murray KY (where I went to College), I believe it's in Princeton, KY?
Very spooky feeling. I imagine there are quite a few of these, most of them in small rural towns, as they were probably discovered by drunken bored rednecks stalled out in neutral on a full moon night puking out their open truck door. |
