Posted - 09/14/2004 : 12:49:44 He might be best known these days for being in Sonic Youth and working with Wilco, but is anyone familiar with Jim O'Rourke as a solo artist? He has some great records. Eureka is the one I know best, though I have half of the Bad Timing album (2 tracks that are 10 minutes a piece). A former roommate of mine was really into O'Rourke and so I've heard a lot of his stuff. It's definitely got the chamber/baroque pop sound to it (in fact, he covers a Burt Bacharach song on Eureka), but it's also avant garde at times. A lot of fun. He's been involved in a lot of music. Here's a discography. http://tisue.net/orourke/
