Admittedly, this World Cup of Hockey has been a little less than outstanding(read as not enough contact), but that semi-final game between Canada and the Czech Republic was awesome. I'll be tuned in tomorrow to watch Canada exploit the best team defence in the world and show that we truly are the best hockey team in the world. I would have been a little more comfortable playing the Americans again but hey, we got the Finns and it promises to be a dandy. With the NHL season still in limbo and looking more and more like it won't be a go is anybody else skipping out early to watch this championship game and possibly the last good hockey game for a long, long time.

looks like it will be the last hockey game in a long while, it wasn't nearly as exciting as the canada/czech game but hey we are still the best in the world. i thought mario lemieuxwas awesome all tournament and deserved the MVP or maybe joe sakic, but lecavalier was still a decent choice (his overtime winner against the czech republic clinched it for him.

Yeah, the trophy's a beast, but that's how it's always been for this tournament. What I didn't like was Lecavalier getting MVP. He's a wanker, but he was proclaimed the next great Canadian hero when he was 16, and through gestures like this they're just perpetuating the myth of his greatness.
