I see what you mean when you say that it is syrupy, but it is not dull. And there are trumpets. The girl used to sing in the Swedish church in Paris, that's where the other two guys discovered her.
The guys are very nice, they answer e-mails and they are very available for their audience (is this correct in english?)
The effect of their music on my mood is very positive, after listening to Cocosuma, I feel like washing the dishes.

Posted - 09/11/2004 : 10:34:02 Her singing drives me nuts. Pretty voice, but the way she enunciates is all lispy and lazy and precious. "The Servant" has a decent melody at its foundation, but I just don't like this kind of music.
Too syrupy and lackadaisical 60s retro French-pop for me. It's like Catherine Deneuve on queludes and valium as the dancing girl in Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. I prefer Edith Piaf and Blonde Redhead.
[edit] Decent pop melody though. "Servant" song is stuck in my head. Damn you Monsieur! Dunno, it might be good without that bubbly electronic syrup. |
