Posted - 09/12/2004 : 21:42:55 alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.indie and .2000s are the only two i frequent.
.complete_cd is usually jam-packed as well.
I'm also addicted to a.b.multimedia for all the television shows..hehehe

Posted - 09/08/2004 : 08:25:23 Are you looking for the names of groups or news hosting providers?
I've been a newsgroup addict for about 8 years. IMO, it's by far the best source for mp3s, videos, etc. People can have their P2P garbage-- overall, the quality of files in the NGs is much better. Sure you don't immediately get what you're looking for, but eventually you will. And you will find loads of other stuff in the mean time.
Currently I use newsreader.com. I think new signups get 30GB/month for $10. Retention is okay (around 4 or 5 days) but, more importantly, completion is second to none.
As for groups, start out with the alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.* groups (especially the ones named after decades). For music videos, there's alt.binaries.mpeg.video.music.

Posted - 09/07/2004 : 20:10:51 I just thought about getting signed on for a newsgroup the other day, and I guess since there are so many topics out there music would be a good place to start. But no, sorry, I haven't gotten signed on to one yet.
BTW, haven't heard from you in a while, speedy m.
