So there's this Jonny Polonsky song called Here Comes The Night, that I'd like to cover with my band, and I'm trying to get the lyrics but I suck at it. Would someone give me a helping hand? There's only one 4-lines verse and then he says like 30 times "Here comes the night" so that should be easy. The song is there:

Thanks guys

Denis

Ohhhhh... here it comes
Here comes the night
Yeah, here comes the night
Oh, yeah (here comes the night)

I can see right out my window walking down the street my girl
With another guy
His arms around her like it used to be with me
Oh it makes me want to die

CHORUS
Yeah, here it comes
Here comes the night
Yeah, here comes the night
Yeah... (here comes the night)

There they go, funny how they look so good together
Wonder what is wrong with me
Why can't I accept the fact she's chosen him
And simply let them be?

CHORUS

Oh she's with him they're turning down the lights
Now he's holding her the way I used to do
I can see her closing her eyes and telling him lies
Exactly like she told me too

... oh... that Them song... So nice played by Bowie on Pin up's....

I never heard his music, but I must do it, if Frank likes it, it must be good.
Maybe this was posted before:
"I get a lot of tapes, but these tapes were different. They were incredible, totally rockin' stuff. This guy was born to be a rock star and he creates the music to back it up. He is amazing."

Were should I start?

Cool about the new CD. I always remember seeing him open for Frank of the COR tour. He was very awesome.

I knew his name sounded familiar when he showed up on the forum a while back!

Hey, glad to see I'm not the only JP fan here.

For those who are interested, here's the track listing of his new Lp, 'The Power of Sound':

1. Let Me Out (3.09)
2. Even the Oxen (4.34)
3. Shitstorm (3.35)
4. Much Love (2.37)
5. My Secret Life (3.33)
6. Calling All Babies (3.35)
7. Where The Signs End (2.26)
8. How Much Do You Know (3.16)
9. All This Freezing (2.43)
10. Live For The Light (3.24)

IMHO the tracks #2, 3 & 6 are the highlights of the album. Anyway I can tell you all the featured songs were carefully selected - no fillers, just killers. Highly recommended.

PS: Thanks Jedi!

You're right, he's a very nice guy, but I didn't write to him cause I'm too shy.
Did you know he has a new album coming out on Sept. 28th? I can't wait.

Awhile back I went on his website and signed up for his free CD. He also sent me a photo and a little note. Basically, he seems like a nice guy - you could probably email him and ask him for the lyrics directly. I bet he'd send them to you.

Kinda reminded me of one of the tracks off of HI, My Name Is Johnny.

Down Low, maybe? It's been a loooong time.

Thanks! What did you think of the song? It's just a b-side but I really like it.

I'm waitin' for the time that's right
The time that's right don't come
I wait for the time in (light/life?)
But the time ain't right
Where I'm goin'

Here comes the night....!
