I've got an avi file that I would like to burn onto a DVD. The burning program I use only does VOB or IFO (or whatever they are--I have no idea what that means)files. How can I convert the avi file to the right kind to be burned?

ˇmuchísimos gracias! Now hopefully this will work, and hopefully I have enough disc space for the 3GB file.

El Barto, you come out from under your rock to respond to this thread, and not my "plungers II' thread?

TMPGEnc will do it, and it's free...I believe the MPEG-2 codec is only like a 30 day trial, though. www.videohelp.com is the best website for all your digital video needs.

I guess I just wasn't made for these times.

Another question of the topic of DVD's. I currenlty have no way of burning cd's, dvd's, ect. Other than doing through a computer, is there another way?

Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't have that kind of money. I guess I'll try a dvd forum and see if there are any cheaper methods.

I use sony's dvd architecht. The reason being, it converts everything for you into mpeg2 automatically once you decide to burn your disc. You can choose to have it just prepare the files or prepare and burn. I also use nero to burn ifo vob files because it is more reliable with my burner.

From what I recall its a real ball-ache to do but I think there is a nero plugin that will do it for you. Type in your problem in google and the answer will come in the form of a dvd messageboard or somethin. Im sure.
