saw the dirtbombs last night, wasn't expecting much, but wow! what an amazing band! fantastic. i recommend you check them out if you haven't already. they have 2 bass players and 2 drummers... it seems to work well though...
also a cool night as 3 bands supported and they were quick changing over... i caught jacky-o (sp?) who were quite good and the mutts who were better.
And it's hard to be a human being, and it's harder as anything else, and I'm lonesome when you're around, and I'm never lonesome when I'm by myself, and I miss you when you're around. |

The Dirtbombs didn't excite me at all on record. Bog standard garagey blues by numbers. The guy has a good voice though I suppose, if a little un-interesting. I was gonna go just 'cos my mate wanted to but we had to be up at 4 to go to Reading.

No, i dont believe either are manc. Infact, i think the mutts are from or near brighton, since they are always playing here.

I have Dangerous Magical Noise, though I keep wanting to call it Dirty Magical Noise. Yeah, it rocks and it's got soul. I got one of the first 1,000 copies so it has a few extra tracks on it. My friend got the vinyl and that had some different bonus tracks. They're from Detroit, so they're semi-local (a couple hours away). They'll be playing at the Magic Stick on the 29th of September. And the Double Door in Chicago in late October. I should go to one of those shows. It's nice having Detroit and Chicago only a couple hours away, though I always choose Chicago over Detroit these days.

well i'm glad someone has heard of them! i was beginning to think i was the hippest kid on the forum, and if that were the case i'd have to shoot myself, but i'm not even cool enough to have a gun, so i'd have to leap from my flat's window, but it's so high up and i'm a bit scared of heights... anyway yeah, was good. jacky-o, are they from manc? they sound nothing like manc's, but that is good! and the mutts? are they manc too?
i don't know! have they not been in the nme yet mike?
