Posted - 09/09/2004 : 12:55:39 I took her on a simple trip To see her husband's family And on the way upon her hip Was laid my head down gently All due respect was meant and all The winds were in agreement That this was answering the call Of awkward and true feeling
A fireman here husband was And so to give him duty I duly tried to light a fire Upon his rightful booty
But beauty was my treasure then As through the hills I drove her And taught her that another man Could have made love to her
Tu-tu tu-tu tu-tu-tu-tu Tu-tu tu-tu tu-tu-tu-tu Tu-tu tu-tu tu-tu-tu-tu
Strange is good if it is kept A secret with the "lovers" Who love there mates and love themselves And need the love of others
Through the window I could see The fields and clouds all passing As in the passanger position Eleanor was thrashing
I stopped the car we got a beer And then eased down the road A little guilt, and some guilt spilt And added to our load
I will show you fear in a handful of dust |

Posted - 08/26/2004 : 13:32:19 Yeah, this Dyniss fella seems to be rather good, although I only managed to download one song because the data stream from his site is really really slow. |

Posted - 08/23/2004 : 16:48:55 Thanks very much apl4eris. I don't really care for vocal perfection, I tend to focus on the feeling conveyed by the performance. I record using a small tape 4 track machine, usually only one take for each instrument. The writing and recording of this song took me only an hour, and I think that by working this fast I capture the feel and atmosphere of the creative moment.
I have of course heard of Bonnie Prince Billy, although I'm not familiar enough with his work. That's something I'm planning to change in the near future.
Thanks again, Ivar |

Posted - 08/23/2004 : 15:53:54 Hey Cartland (Ivar). I enjoyed that little song. The vocals are sweet even though they falter a bit - they reminded me of Bonnie Prince Billy (Will Oldham). Are you familiar with him? http://www.palacerecords.com/
Good luck! I look forward to hearing your other work.
